Some will say they can’t stand her. A few are sick of her. A whole lot of people worships at her style altar. Many are inspired by her as a muse. Throngs of photographers want to snap her. Journalists want to bring her down with her antics. Stores sell out of certain items because of her. Whatever opinion, attitude or feeling you have towards her, there is just something about Kate Moss that makes people react. A new exhibition that is opening on Friday at the FOAM Photography museum in Amsterdam entitled ‘The Kate Show’. There certainly haven’t been many exhibitions dedicated to one model but nor is this just a bunch of pretty photos that revere her. It will demonstrate how the media has shaped and moulded Kate Moss, the relationship between private and public. In terms of a fashion media icon, she is undeniably an exception and phenomenon. She says little but conveys a lot with various pictures be it pap shots, candid snaps, adverts, editorials or filmed ads. I personally try not to overrate nor underrate her because ubiquitous as she is, the public’s fascination with her has not diminished.
The exhibition is on until the 14th December and features photographers like Terry Richardston and Mario Sorrenti and artists like Adam McEwen.

I would love to see that so much. She has been captured in some of the most beautiful photographs I’ve ever seen.
gotta love that ‘stach on ms. moss….:)
Who’s the naked photographer in the photo with Kate? Is it Terry Richardson?
Wow, I love Kate Moss. I would love to see that show! Too bad I’m nowhere near Amsterdam 🙁
I liked her, but she’s in every single freaking magazine advertisement, it’s somewhat sickening. She’s in all my magazines…why must she haunt us…
Anne-yes that is Terry Richardson
I agree with Sonja, she’s overexposed (In more ways than one, apparently!).

gah, the FOAM museum is one of my favorites in the world! when i was travelling alone thru holland, i spent a wonderful rainy nite there, happened upon an opening party, had free champagne, and fell in love with guy bourdin’s photographs for the first time : )
wish i could see that kate moss exhibit. sigh.
I’m curious Susie: what do YOU think of Kate Moss?
Personally I looooved her in her young days but I don’t think she’s some amazing goddess. It annoys me when people worship her.
Huh! My body is quite similar to Kate’s (jsut shorter). So why do I hate showing my legs? 😐
