>> I'm sorry that I have nothing meaningful to bring to the blog table other than a shot of my nails.  Actually, the whole point of my coming to LA was that for a few days, there would be nothing meaningful to say other than "Ah…bliss… the vertical light in LA is too good!"  And indeed it is.  I'm going to say it in a smallish voice.  I really do heart LA.  I'd heart it more if I could drive but having Steve cruise around whilst I navigate the GPS is the next best thing.  I've got more relevant things to say about LA in my next post but for now, I'll leave you with these airbrushed nails, which I got done at CT Nails III, a recommendation from the guide-that-is-actually-a-good-guide, written by my friend Joy Yoon, Best Things to do in Los Angeles: 1,001 Ideas.

I've ticked maybe about twenty to thirty things off that exhaustive list and one of them was to go get my nails did at CT Nails III.  I don't know what the difference between CT Nails III, #4 or #9 is but Roman numerals seems to add a regal air to this salon, "recently remodeled with a luxurious look" according to its website.  It ain't actually all that flash but what it lacks in boujis niceities, it makes up for in great service and an airbrush design menu that will make your mind boggle.  Airbrushing nail art may be old news to those who visit the hardiest of ghetto nail salons in USA but or maybe the rare few in Brixton/Dalston that do airbrushing but it's definitely not de rigeur nail art procedure in London yet.  CT Nails III is just one of many, MANY nail airbrushers in town but I'd dare you to find a design menu as extensive as this as they come up with new patterns, stencils and combos on a regular basis.  Checks, florals, gradients, skulls, hearts, faux luxury logos and even a motif that looks like Comme des Garcons Play logo – it's a nightmare for those with even a smidge of indecision.  To add to the plethora of options, you can also change colours and bring your own ideas.  "Anything you dream of, we can do!" the owner said to one customer.  Did I already say I've fallen in love with Los Angeles?

  2. That’s the beauty of LA, when I was there last week it was more like me gorging on every meal and soaking up sun and friendly smiles along the way. They say its the ‘californian air’ lol. Also, I too was the one not driving and having my older sis (who I visited in LA) do the driving while I fiddled with the GPS ;D You should try Blu Jam Cafe of if you go to Manhattan Beach try The Strand House (amazing poached eggs)!
