Pousada Haven

>> I desperately wish I could reveal the reason why I was fortunate enough to wander around a beautiful 12th century Augustine monastery-turned-hotel perched on a hill, overlooking the picturesque town of Guimaraes in North Portugal.  Then this post wouldn't look a little like an empty outfit postcard with an exquisite tiled background.  There is a completely legitimate reason as to why Steve and I flew out to Portugal for a day.  All will be revealed in due course, she says mysteriously.  Actually, it might all be a bit of an anti-climax when we do tell so I'll just shut up and get on with the photo subject at hand – the incredibly serene Pousada de Guimaraes, where I took a gratuitous number of outfit photos.

I arrived by going dotty with the help of a new Acne skirt and a Marni top that I got on sale at Browns.  Dots will invariably crop up here for the new season, says the TRENDSssssss and I'm hoping mine will be turned up in textural volume  – PVC, faux fur, glitter perhaps?

I left the hotel, accidentally looking like the female counterpart to Francis of Assisi.  Calm-inducing designer Dusan provided the  silk shirt and skirt in tones, that matched the stonework of the monastery.  Instead of a brown burlap robe, I get to waft about in a vintage Hermes coat from Strut off Broadway Market (too many pieces to talk up from this newfound vintage spot.).

  13. I live in London, But I’m also from Portugal. Thank you for this wonderful pics. I love this places, and there are many there, they are amazingly beautiful and because relatively undiscovered, people can still soak up the place undisturbed by flashy tourists.

  14. You have amazing style, but poor posture. Invest in your stance! Stand tall and really carry off those clothes.

  15. Sadie: alas its a childhood thing from being bullied at school. I have tried correcting it but somehow its a bit too ingrained into me…meh like my imperfect teeth, terrible eyebrows i guess I’ve just accepted them as things I can’t be arsed to correct…

  16. Glad to see you finally in Portugal. The north is absolutely amazing but next time here just take a few days out to visit Lisboa….and if you want some tips about LX don’t hesitate to call me. Love you Style Salvage/Bubble. Luis Hipólito.
