iCan with an iPad?

>> More about Brazilian wonderkid Pedro Lourenco's mature step up of a collection laterz because right now, all I can think about these leather iPad cases attached to the wrist on a bracelet that I THINK makes Lourenco the first to put iPads on a fashion show.  I love that Lourenco's inclusion of iPads slightly alludes to KCD (the PR powerhouse company that represents Lourenco) and their efficient use of iPads at shows where they check in guests (I sometimes don't bother with invites with KCD shows knowing that they'll be able to find my seating allocation faster than me rooting around in my bottomless pit of a bag).  I'm also intrigued by the fact that the screens are facing outwards as the models hold the case, meaning that prints, patterns, colours shown on the screen could feasibly match up with whatever is on the body (like I said, more about the actual clothes later…).  This new print/pattern dimension of the iPad that never occurred to me when I was mulling over whether to cave into the gadget, which in my head was essentially a crap laptop slash giant iPhone (I was also mulling because designers seem to love sending over their nifty iPad cases assuming that I as a blogger would almost certainly have one).  Anyhow Lourenco's sleek accessory that was probably more for catwalk gimmickry than anything else, has started the mulling-over process all over again and continues my ongoing slavery to that Apple logo…

  1. I’m surprisingly charmed by them, despite being so anti-trendy-Apple. I love that you featured this. It does bring about a whole slew of ideas, matching the screen to your outfit. Oh technology! I can’t imagine what my grandmother would think of this!

  2. These are fab but could be a bit dodgy walking around with your ipad on display…’please come and nick my ipad’!!!

  3. Saw you interviewed for the Viktor & Rold F/W ’11 show and decided to check this space out – loving it!
In regards to Lourenco’s spin on the iPad accessory, they look more like fashion shackles to me – sort of making the statement that we’re slaves to technology, more specifically Apple. May the Fashion Gods save us, the machines are taking over!

  4. Totally convinced by that! Technology is so weard and amazing at the same time, isn´t it!
There´s a little giveaway in my blog and it´s open until tomorrow;)

  5. Many do use iPads today as alternatives on personal computers. Besides it is handier, it can do same task as what a PC could do also. It is essential especially for those who have online business.
