As most of you know, I'm no shy-awayer of floral prints. Big, ditzy, pastel, bright, abstracted, Liberty… I've got it in too many forms in my wardrobe so much so that when my Stolmen wardrobe is drilled into the floors (I'm getting chummy with a drill bit this summer), I'll surely find a vaguely practical way of categorising my florals. That said, I also slightly wince at the presentation of the notion of florals to the yet-to-be-converted. 'Ditzy Florals For Spring' 'Major Flower Power', 'Potent Pansies!' 'Watercolour Wallflowers' are all variations of the sort of fashion headline sell-ins that would send a few people into a barf-attack. There's something fey and twee about the floral-themed language that unfortunately doesn't figuratively convey what are joyous prints that should make most people smile like a Milkybar Kid.
I therefore present a different sort of beast that is closely related to the familly of floral but has nothing to do with being 'ditzy' whatsoever. I feel like I need to emasculate this Tour de Force skirt which is technically has a rose formation but somehow, I'm compelled to refer to it as 'He'. HE hugs my hips and makes me stride about like the petals on this beautifully structured skirt which bears great relation to the wonderful hats that Camille Roman creates, are forms of weaponry. HE makes me wonder whether I should refer to him as a 'flower' at all. In the presence of HE, will all my floral pieces wither to weeds? The boning in the skirt makes this a structure not to be messed about with but the shortness means that something has got to cover up the chocha underneath it.
Were the skirt to roar on a person with longer and lither legs, HE would surely go it alone. Camille Roman of Tour de Force should have sent a note with the riffed quote of "With great power of flower, comes great responsibility!" Indeed, this is a skirt that can't be treated with the same blase blah blah of its less robust floral counterparts but I'll have to figure out ways of taming HIM…

That is so cool! You rock my world!
You’ve got no idea how much my curvaceous hips envy you right now. Love it!
That is a simply GORGEOUS skirt. The folds and incidental ruffles, the moody and mysterious color. . . I just love how you’ve layered it! This makes me want to create some kind of hip or waist accessory (not to be confused with a belt) for my shop!
i want to die for that skirt.

Nice skirt, I’m in love with that bleached denim washed shirt you’re wearing !
1. Is He made of leather??

I’m also a huge fan of all floral prints and things!
This skirt reminds me of the Valentino floral bags that I adore.
Love the look but think that it needed a different shirt/top.
Too much is going on like this, I?d have prefered a simple white shirt.

That skirt is ahsum. Nice.
Also, I felt compelled to share a poem called triskaidekaphobia which was stuck on the wall at my prep school and which for some reason I still remember..it went:
Triskaidekaphobia-what does it mean?
It’s when somebody’s scared of the number 13.
But how on earth can a number be scary?
Don’t ask me, ask the dictionary!
Happy Monday ๐ x
