It all started with….zee big INCREDIBLE bow… a signature of Le Tour de Force that drew me to the label like a very gay moth to a satiny flame.
Then designer of Le Tour de Force, Camille Roman decided to turn her hand to clothes that would extend from her hats, co-ordinating them so that a folds of satin sitting on the head might also be wrapped around the skirt. "I have always designed 'potential 'garment collections alongside the Headpieces. As I couldn't afford to make the garments at first, I started off trying to create headpieces that could inspire or create a whole look. Expanding to garments makes me even more hungry to realise more ideas and put them out there… cook up a whole shebang of visual deliciousness and spin it on plates," explains Roman.
Her ensuing seasons after her initial S/S 09 season have therefore been different explorations of 'visual deliciousness', from birds of paradise to Roman gladiators, never wavering from pieces that I think just about sit on the right side of theatrical… so long as you can paint a blank canvas behind the pieces. For A/W 10-11 Camille goes all dark and assertive to create perhaps a more sex-fuelled collection…"This collection has been inspired by the Amazon women and a play on associations with feminine dominance. To me the funny and the serious can lie closely together in the strength of the mental consideration they inspire, as do the forms of passion in love and hate emotionally, and I hope to keep exploring the 'balance'."
There are either quite literal takes on dominatrix themes or they are overturned by Camille's own aesthetic so that regardless of the subject matter at hand, her modes of embellishment such as cascades of ruffles or rosettes are going to attack the playsuit/dress/nipple-baring bra anyway…
The chained cap and matching super cropped sweater are my favourite pieces… because for a moment, I like to imagine that I can rock this amount of bling and get away with it scot-free…
I'm hoping Camille intended these spokes on boobs to be hilarious…
I'm also hoping these pointy ruffled shoes somehow make it to the magical land of production… another take on the 'hoof' shoe except these are actually hoof-like…
Gorgeous green, black and gold. The detail is wonderful and makes me wish I was a complete fashionista with trust fund to indulge me! Damn…
The headwear are gorgeous, but the shoes are amazing but to walk or to pose…..

I adore Tour De Force and Camille is just so lovely! Her work is just getting better and better, though I don’t think me and my boobies could get away with any of it…

I personally think that the hoof shoes looks more like rhinos to me. One of the photo shoots looks like a Cleopatra inspired. That would be a line I would love to see…
Adoring the simple black bob letting the accessories do the talking.

these pictures are so marvelous. The hat reminds me of siouxsie.
DANG THE SMALL FOCUSES ARE AWESOME!
I love it. I love the tassel or circle breast aspect of the various pieces. Undeniably sexy but not slutty. Beautiful collection. <3

I love the whole idea of an entire outfit extending out of a hat, and the concept worked out brilliantly. I do hope this ends up going into production!
