>> I'm sort of on a furry tract which is being strengthened here by Berlin-based designer Kostas Murkudis' new A/W 10-11 collection but I definitely haven't been seeing a lot of lemon/lime/orange citrus colours going on which makes this a refreshing A/W 10-11 foray.  I've always admired Murkudis' strict lines that play with opacity and skin revelation.  I feel like this is his most ornate collection yet, adding not only his own say in the big A/W 10-11 texture story but also a more heightened sense of decoration in the choice of fabrics.  Materials such as shiny coated loden and foamed mesh and the added padding in the coats and jackets definitely need a closer inspection to fully understand what Murkudis has put into this comparably adorned collection but from pictures alone, I love that he has collided a typically summery palette with textures belonging to winter…

The dress coat that I would wear with nothing underneath it and a tight belt cinching the waist concealing my modesty…

The furry addition here looks more whimsical than lux… which for me is a good thing… it's like the token party marabou scarf has been controlled and reined into these dresses…

The simpler shapes still remain though and I'm not gonna lie… clear PVC taut top is evoking a 90s Helmut Lang-ish kind of sexy that is mighty appealing…

  1. wow, probably one of the best designers you posted recently. love the use of model too, she looks like she belongs in the clothes

  2. love every single piece! and i’m actually not a big fan of plastic like fabrics. the colour combinations – just too perfect! beautiful!

  3. This is really different to anything I’ve seen recently. I really like how he managed to mix pvc and fur with what looks like peachy silks!

  4. Love the aesthetic appeal of these designs, especially the mixing of fabrics, but don’t think I could wear any of them except for the long cream dress with the black vest. The model looks gorgeous in all of them.

  5. Love it, especially the first and last dress. Also looked up his s/s 2010 collection which is amazing as well. Do you happen to know if he has any stockists in London or online?

  6. Diana B: I don’t think he does actually…. I think bStore use to have him… but not anymore… I’d make direct enquiries…!

  7. The shapes, silhouettes, textures and colours in this collection are simply amazing. I haven’t seen a collection which has literally made me gasp in a very long time. This collection is extremely new and exciting…thanks for sharing Susie.

  8. this is a great evolution for him… i remember a few seasons ago, he was doing very minimalistic things, and oddly enough, i’m starting to want that more now… ahh my head!
