>> It's no secret that me and red just don't see eye to eye. Or at least there's a particular shade of red… Royal Mail post box red to be precise that I have always avoided like the plague. I've slowly been dipping into shades that stray far from the postbox but come come April 9th, I'll have to confront it. Actually, I'm willingly confronting it because I'm clasping my hands with excitement at the release of Luca Guadagnino's film I Am Love starring Tilda Swinton. If the other half gets to wee his pants himself over a mohair jumper in A Single Man, then I can swoon a little at the fact that Raf Simons for Jil Sander has architected the wardrobe for Tilda Swinton's character Emma Recchi.
I particular love this grurple mauve colour against the Milanese backdrop…
I don't yet have much to say on the film obviously as it isn't out for a few more weeks but perhaps i can get to grips with this postbox red dress that is clearly a character in itself as it features in quite a few key scenes…
Lo and behold… it's also up for sale already for people who have no qualms about spanking a tidy sum of dosh on a LRD… I'm just not there yet but like I said, there's a few weeks to go yet…
I adore postbox red, mostly in lipstick, but sometimes a flash of something red under a black outfit. I think it would suit you perfectly!
Glad to see your massively back on blogging form 🙂

tilda is one of the most special persons i’ve ever seen. and her style is very different from the rest of hollywood. it is more european

Ooh I i didn’t know Raf did the costumes. I think there is a preview and Q&A this thurs at Curzon Mayfair… http://1url.com/qk6
Tilda Swinton is so beautiful! I wish she would take as much care when she’s attending events cause I think sometimes in real life, she’s not as striking cause she probably doesn’t care… pretty photos!
This movie looks incredible! As does Tilda (love her!), I’m a big fan of red too 🙂 And sacre bleu! Jil Sander has an online shop?
xx
Red obviously suits Tilda Swinton. I also like the mauve picture, although the Gaudi church in the background makes it look like she is growing a rather big spine (Lady Gaga like).
where is from this movie? what is this language?
the red dress is really pretty)

Red is hong, rouge, and idk. . . .. .
tilda swinton?
she is incredible, and that dress is so chic, love the color although I would have to get use to wearing red lipstick, let alone a red dress…but alas it is beautiful..
thanks for sharing

I love red but used to avoid it a lot when I was younger. Funnily enough, my last post was about red accessories and that’s how far I’ve gone at the moment. I would love to wear it more but it’s a difficult colour to pull off at times!
Gotta love Tilda!
A movie I actually want to see? Astonishing!

i adore red and of coz i have some red stuff. but i’m always bias to it so i pick red garbs very careflly. i’m in love wit this celine dress and the movie. so beautiful – the whole pic, the separate shots. Tilda, her outfits, mybeloved italian language – everything is perfect!!! can’t wait to see it!!
Red makes me think of death so I do everything I can to avoid wearing it or having it decorate my house in some way. I don’t even like red at Christmas.
I’m not sure what the film is about but from the poster it looks like red is an integral part of the mood.
Tilda looks lovely as always but I haven’t gone over to the red side just yet.
how nice! Finally a bit of Italian style at the cinema … I really like the atmosphere of a typical milanese high class family … an enchanted world, unreal, but always equal to itself, boring, lacking in creativity and often devoid of love … the red is a difficult color to wear, if you dress in red you’re always in the spotlight, you must have a strong personality to wear it … in the movie certainly they have used the color red because in the Western tradition, red is symbol of passion
i love the dress, its so feminine

I don’t wear that shade of red as it makes me look sickishly pale. Other shades of red however, more muted (if that makes sense) I love to wear. Especially with pink, purple & orange.
Am unsure about Tilda… something about her that doesn’t work for me.
Tilda is a goddess, btu i do not look like a goddess wearing red, i look like a TOMATO! i have a funny little round head which tops off the whole look, quite literally. i wish i wish i wish i could do it more convincingly! alas, i think i have to surrender red to my olive-skinned, brunette or just less-tomato-ey counterparts.
