>> The Stockholm fashion week tidbits catchup begins and I've given myself until Wednesday when I leave for New York to tie it all up. Impossible given that I could wax lyrical about a number of things at length… less talk, more action. I had to post these images from Sol & Luna, a most evolved lookbook produced by Libraryman for the Swedish menswear label Our Legacy 1980-81 featuring photography by the wonderful Viviane Sassen. Our Legacy put their S/S 10 menswear on a woman which is effective only with Sassen's deft way of revealing and concealing in her images…
**EDIT** So either I'm a doofus or I completely got the wrong end of the stick. When I had met the designer of Our Legacy, Jockum Hallin, he did tell me that this book was a 'lookbook' of sorts. But as Tony Cedertag, editor and publisher of Librarymen explains, the book is supposed to be Viviane Sassen's photobook that merely borrows some clothes from Our Legacy. I was also told that it was printed in a limited run of 300 so of course it isn't distributed like a normal lookbook either. My bad. The book isn't meant to be 'selling' anything other than Sassen's beautiful aesthetic.
Damn that’s a fine lookbook…. (I use a pdf!)
gorgeous, I love the shots with the jeans and tucked in button-down shirt.
I dunno, menswear being showcased via naked lady seems a bit off to me. :/
Nicely done pictures, though.
Very Artsy and typical Swedish, like Acne paper.. It looks great, but I think it belongs in a Gallery istead of a lookbook, can¬¥t really see my booyfriend look at the stuff on the girl saying, “thats just what I want..”
Beautiful pictures
but nudity..
Those pictures look so stunning 🙂
nice pics, inspiring!
Beautiful!
I love b&w photography; it’s irreplaceable.
Even with menswear, it’s the woman’s body that sells it haha She looks really great in and out of those clothes. I’m definitely looking into this label (or at least their lookbooks).
It is a good lookbook my criticism would be about the photo with jumper coming off and very protruding spine on view – sort of think that it is a bit unnecessary.
Bonjour Susie!
Really interesting it’s a women modelling the menswear.
The printed ‘boats’ shirt seems beautiful, I wonder what’s the colourway … will check the store next time i’m in stockholm … Anyways, this totally complements your previous post on unisex breton stripes that I really enjoyed (especially i always steal clothes from my fianc√© 😉
have a nice day! x
The way it’s laid out and shot reminds me slightly of encens or Acne Paper (gorgeous).
That’s a great look book but I agree with the comment above about the protruding spine, it’s a little uneccessary but the rest of the nudity gives it quite a playful, frivolous edge which reflects the clothes perfectly.
Also, black and white on matt paper is a sure fire way to win my heart.

Despite the artfullness of it all, isn’t using a naked lady to sell stuff to men a bit 70s?
For all your concern, this book is absolutely not a lookbook, in any way. Though it is an initiative from men’s clothier Our Legacy but published by Libraryman. Libraryman only publishes photobooks! Viviane Sassen got the proposal of creating a photobook for Libraryman (with support from Our Legacy) so all clothes were choosen by herself only – and please note that every garment isn’t from Our Legacy so it’s never been about the clothes or any outside influence – only about Viviane Sassen and the creation of her second book. http://www.vivianesassen.com
Best regards
Tony Cederteg, publisher & editor in chief of Libraryman
nudity…mmm..not my favorite tip of art but they say…open your mind into the new borders!!!!
