>> King George III was definitely not mad. He whispered sweet nothings to his plants and chatted up a few trees but those were living things and nurturing growth through whatever means Farmer George deemed necessary doesn't seem that insane to me (plus there was that whole porphyria thing).
Kicking a chest of drawers, an inanimate object however and trying to wrench it apart and then breaking down in tears, sobbing to it and softly pleading 'Please…just…open…up!'… This is the looney bin calling. This is behaviour that is ready made for the straight jacket. This was me with my drawers from Ikea every morning for the past six months.
Once the base of one drawer fell through from the sheer weight of my clothes, the other quickly followed and it then became a Crystal Maze challenge to try and fish out a required top. To avoid this descending further into a situation whereby I'd end up praying to a piece of MDF, I promptly marched into the second hand office supply store on the high street and got myself these…
…I'd like to see my collection of leggings break these bad boys…
…on a brighter note, I greeted a fleet of tops I hadn't seen in a long time with sweet sweet affection "Helloooooo much-loved tops of the bottom drawer! Let's get to know each other again shall we?"
…on a madder note, that was me talking to more inanimate objects…
Seems very practical. I feel your pain re: flimsy furniture and fixtures…the hanging rail in my closet once committed suicide under the weight of clothing I had on it.
Love it! great idea!!!

Haha, this is such a great idea.
Argh such a great idea! Crying at my chest of drawers does not seem to work so I may have to think about something like this.
I think I would do the same.
I have those same Ikea storage boxes – careful you don’t happen to get them wet – mine got mysteriously soaked and ruined all my stuffs inside 🙁

I don’t even have a wardrobe – still living off shelves/rails after moving in with the bf 10 months ago… I just hope this isn’t the beginning of the rest of my life of storing my clothes.

This is so what I need! Makes me feel like my excessive clothing collection is justifiable.
Cheers to your massssssive collection of leggings! 🙂
What a brilliant idea! works so well esp when I have towering bundles of clothes all around my room. I’m officially out of wardrobe space.

You should have seen me crying hysterically over a forgotten password for my accounting program for my business a few weeks ago. HYSTERICALLY! That was madness!

Such a good idea! I went out to buy another chest of drawers last month to take the strain of all my clothes and its full and wobbly already! Why do ikea make furniture that can’t serve its purpose!? x

Fantastic idea! I’m sick of replacing/ repairing my chest of drawers so next time they go kaput I’m going to do the same.

eureka! I have been living the same scenario until my blasted Ikea also gave way and my room looks like it was attacked by a hurricane of madwomen. this has the gears going…hmmm
I’ve a fixation with utilitarian chests of drawers… and chests of drawers in general, but still find that the second hand office filing cabinets are quite expensive? Did you get a good deal??
I am always fighting with my overstuffed drawers as well, good solution!

amazzzzing idea, and with a flick of a hip that baby is going to make a satisfying clunk x
haha you certainly need cher’s wardrobe computer! maybe a wardrobe assistant? you’re great though because you seem to nurture and wear all your things, and not stick to lazy favourites or newest buys!
The collapse of a drawer, pretty much a right of passage for any fashionista/clotheshorse! Love your blog and your pics are so cute!
why dont you actually get folders and file them by color? theyre thin enough to do it right?
