>> I'm on a bit of an accesories romp this morning and keeping things swift and short because the press days are in full swing in London at the moment. Things are either tribal or tropical in music and in fashion and I'm not sure what either of those 'tr' geographic/ethnically vague words ACTUALLY mean but I know that both have been combined with another 'tr', the triangle to form Brokenfab's jewellery range. Brokenfab is designed by Swiss textiles designer Fabienne Morel whose prints you may recognise from Ashish's collection as she has been working with him since 2006. With her particular kind of 'disco beading' she has taken to making triangular, tropical and tribal bracelets, necklaces and earrings that look like they definitely need to be worn in multiple numbers and as well as with some equally clashing colours underneath.
The Tropical Triangle
Great! The bracelets remind me a bit of those bracelets that snap and wrap around your wrist – in a good way.
they’re cool but i kinda feel the whole geometric tribal thing is sooooooo overdone
They’re cool! They remind me of M.I.A and a small magazine cover she did a few years ago.
I used to have DIY with the little beads. It was a bit difficult. These accesories are awesome!! Really!!
Smth diff)
I like the earrings!
Drooool. I’m particularly smitten with the bracelet.
What a great idea. It looks really time consuming though. You might be able to get a similar effect with embroidery thread or needlepoint. I’d be interested in trying to make something similar.
Wow! Gorgeous! I love all the bright colors and geometry. I feel that is something that never goes out of style. Would love to get myself some of those cuffs!

wow my mum used to bead work like that when I was very little although she never did exciting shapes and colours it was mosly black but very cute even so! I shall have to ask her how its done and have a go myself!
Also question: is your blog linked to ebay!? I know random but I have not visited the auction haven for at least four days and when i typed your blog address in instead of the usual little ‘style bubble’ logo that comes up beside the address on internet explorer the ebay logo came up! how bazaar!
anyway i am doing the talking to myself thing again so I will love you and leave you for i fear that if I don’t I may start to talk about the conversation I had with the squirrel on the way home to reassure him that my earmuffs are made of 100% man made fibres and not from his desceased relatives!
too late!!!!

the beading reminds me of the traditional nepali necklaces my mum used to wear…
Yeah, the whole geo-tribal thing can look a bit tired but I still think these can be worn in a particular way as to not render them …erm…M.I.A. circa 2008….
Tomorrow: That’s so odd – no my blog isn’t linked to eBay…was it a temporary thing…. must be working now since you managed to comment on the blog?
Tanya: Ah yes… Nepali comes to mind…as does some Mongolian textile patterns…!
WOW, tribal meets rave & has some awesomely stunning kids!
I really love these…x
I’m completely crapping my pants right now. Those necklaces are amazing & everything I love right now. Unfortunately, the triangular earrings remind me of earrings I used by buy at headshops in Venice CA, so those are sort of seeming cheap to me. The necklaces & earrings are GREAT though. Great! I need a couple of pieces to compliment some of the ethnic vintage pieces I’m showing in my vintage shop right now. Awesome
I actually almost bought accessories with the same bead patterns over the weekend. They did not have this awesome triangle shapes, though.
