It's Liberty prints ahoy today warranting series of posts with Roman numerals. Whilst I may not have made it out to Copenhagen (*blub blub*), high-res images from the website are an acceptable second rate consolation. Swedish brand Fifth Shoe Avenue Repair didn't present their S/S 10 collection at Fashion Week by Berns and chose Copenhagen to debut their collection (Scandi fashion weeks combined makes more sense, no?) and as per usual, it was a shapely and sculptural affair, heavily concentrated in black. My eyes were more drawn to the obvious showpiece, particularly with the with rampant wired structures that is basically like being encased by printed fabric orbital rings.
With Liberty's Prints Charming celebrations kicking off this week, the mixed prints that Fifth Shoe Avenue Repair used is making me itch for Liberty print scraps too play around with. So the floral prints may have been used and abused in the past few seasons but beyond those ditzy florals are patterns that are rich in variety yet united in style. I'm not sure whether Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair did look to Liberty for their fabric choices but the mix is most definitely a reflection of that Liberty spirit.
If the print nonsense is not up your street, I'm also quite strunned by Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair's 'By the No' collection, a made-to-order collection of their most extravagant and dramatic silhouettes mainly in black that uses a hefty amount of fabric to construct obi bows, pleated bubbles and wings. Were it not for the javascript and teensy images, I would posted some… will try and source larger images…
what a psychedelic TRIP. these creative minds cause insane jealousy within me, always.
I am in loooooove with the very last dress (and the liberty print dress similar to it above, with the same… hmm… encasing as the last dress).
Well. Maybe not in love. But it was nice to look at 😛

Need pink socks NOW
Wow, it’s so great to see Fifth Avenue Shoe Repair branch out from their traditionally sober color palette with these prints. My favorite is that last coral piece.

I was in love with that shirt w/ the offset center the first time I saw it posted on a blog.
To be truly happy is a question of how we begin and not of how we end, of what we want and not of what we have
