Clip On

One of the things that I used to spend literally hours doing that I have had to sacrifice due to that thing called 'work' is spending a hideous amount of time on Yoox browsing through the copious amount of Italian brands that I've never heard of.  The bulk of the items have a slight fuddy-duddy quality to them but sometimes a gem or two might emerge if enough browsing is dedicated hence why I used to waste away my hours doing this.

Sadly my shopping has been heavily curtailed, both online and in person but a very 'accidental' stop (we were SUPPOSED to be looking for chests of drawers) at Bang Bang on Saturday yielded this very odd leather string embroidered bra top by a label called Clips.  I gather they show during Milan Fashion Week and aren't some deadened out brand but as far as I know have no website.  Oh well, all i know is it's another bra/crop top thang to add to the growing collection that I've accumulated this summer for layering purposes.

Going back to the chest of drawers situation, basically my wardrobing system is precariously on the brink of complete collapse.  Which has forced me to consider the possibility (it's only a possibility…we all know I'll never chuck anything away…) of editing down my clothes or more likely, wear more of the things that are stuffed at the back.  So yesterday, out came a Rifat Ozbek skirt that I loved a little too much two years ago and an unworn chiffon leopard print cape from Rumi's Treasure Chest Vintage in an outfit that is probably a bit too fussy for a day of lazy Breakfast Clubbing in Angel…

  1. WOW, you look so gorgeous! I canยฌยฅt chunck anything myself… Everything sort of have a meaning, and in a few years you can use it again… hmm I guess Iยฌยฅm a gatherer..

  2. Who needs a chest of drawers when you’ve got that bra. For your chest. (Sorry, couldn’t resist.)

  3. Once again with the mad layering skills, love it.
But brrrr….is it not chilly in London Susie? I know I’m in wet Wales but it’s seriously freezing here!
Also, I’ve really not mastered the art of daytime heels yet. I always feel like I’m over-dressed which is an annoying and silly feeling. Perhaps I’ll brave it more often when I live in London. Just need to master the art of walking further than bar to dance floor..

  4. maybe it’s the animal print, maybe it’s the neutral shoe, but something about this outfit makes you seem older (in a good way, of course). You look simply divine and refined, yes that was a rhyme…

  5. animal print, nude heels, transparent black, pedigree purses.
    Soo Italian, brava!!!

  6. Well observed people! I was actually consciously growing up for the day….
Dust: My inner Italian self was being unleashed…

  7. I love your layering skills! I hate to part with things to, so I started to hide them in my attic – now I cant get up there as the bags have blocked the door!

  11. That looks really cool. The bra is like filigree. Good usage of the utility belt look too! You could clip loads of stuff on it.
