Oh Deer Me the 2nd Round

My encounters with deers in fashion haven't been that successful as yet.  I battled with my inner cartoon fetishist when pondering the Stella McCartney for LeSportSac deer head rucksacks and even their bargain bin sale prices weren't enough to push me to ride that fashion stag.  This time round though, me thinks the deer will come and get me.  Or a zebra, lion or stag in fact.  Emma Cook's fine and fair mini-collection for Topshop is about all softy softy and muted whispers.  No beastly roars coming from these silk tunics and dresses.

It's in fact this image from the latest issue of Dazed that really convinced me though.  The styling instantly slashes through the pretty pretty and so come next Friday when the collection hits stores and online, I'll be doing a blissful early am shop (it's peaceful lushness at precisely 9.15am in the morning…).

  1. I want these badly. I was wondering when it was being launched. Deer can take over my wardrobe along with stella bag and digby&iona stag

  2. Ahhh i love the deer and stag heads… on anything. Always gives me that sort of vibe of a grand country house, which people go to when they’re going out to shoot.

  3. Has Dominica of Faces and Places in Antwerp seen these? She owns a boutique called Oh Deer!, and she would looooove these.

  4. I really like how designers incorporate animals into their collections, mmm Peter Jensen sweaters comes to mind…
The deer print is so oddly attractive to me, I’m really digging the allover print top.

  5. I love the pieces on their own – especially the oversized tee, however that styled image for dazed makes the tunic look like a cheap aunties nighty. Each to their own…
