LEW Does Not Equal Eww

>> I have a lot of reading, website-searching and seeking out to do over the next few days but the crux of it is that one of the designers at Amsterdam Fashion Week that I'm NOT seeing is LEW aka the label by Kim Leemans and Merel Wicker who have their S/S 10 presentation on Saturday afternoon.  BOO to that…

That does mean I'll probably being the ol' catch up routine when the pics of their S/S 10 collection comes out which apparently is a personal reaction to their own changing surroundings…  I'm hoping though that the general gist of things don't veer TOO far off from this S/S 09 collection which is all light chiffon and sherbet-y colours.  Ok, I may forgive them if they decide that they're no longer feeling candyfloss pink, pastel orange and cake-like layered chiffon… but I'll linger on this collection for now.

It's the sort of tailoring that I'm crave in the summer.  Delicate but not completely devoid of shape because the way the soft fabric has to be cut (best seen in the panelled trousers) and then topped off with interlocking/interwoven tops that look like fabric swatches have come together in a calculated way.  It's controlled ice-cream, graphic fondant fancies, straight-edged cupcakes…. you get the idea…
