Gilecoutscan Apologies for the lack of substantial posting but I have some juicy spurts coming along that should restore faith.  Or not.  Who knows?  You'll be the judge of that.  So the sample sale season has sort of rolled in.  No news yet of anything good that I can put on the sidebar but it was the Giles Deacon sample sale yesterday (one of those ones I can't really shout about alas…) and I bagged myself a ¬£40 bargain in the form of these show Giles x Gina Couture shoes from the A/W08 show and even more brilliantly illustrated in the British Vogue December 2008 Unbelievable Fashion Nick Knight shoot to the left.

These are to be my foot weight lifting excercise shoes as the heels are stonkingly heavy with metal bolt type things embellished with Swarvoski crystals.  I've always thought that women throwing their shoes at men in a screeching rage, is a pointless act on most accounts seeing as the shoes being thrown are usually flimsy affairs that only serve to accentuate the feebleness of an angered woman and her shoe-throwing hissy fit.  Throw these stonkers though and you might go down for manslaughter.  Tis' a good thing I don't have much rage to vent.

  1. I love how they are borderline gorgeous/deeply tacky!
I have never thrown a shoe at the BF but I did once throw a potato in a fit of rage. It might have been effective if a/ it had hit him and b/ it had been a baking potato as opposed to a baby new potato. Of course I now have a fine selection of suitably weighty shoes should the need to clobber him ever arise!

  2. They are absolutely so stunningly gorgeous (and bargainous!) it hurts to look at them.

  3. what a bargain!! i love how they’re so detailed yet there seems to be so little shoe, and the angled platform.

  4. OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!
40 quid?!? Oh my, am so incredibly jealous!!! Those are absolutely unreal!

  6. AHHH! i would pay twice that for those shoes. oh, but hey, check out my ann demeulemeester wanna be DIY booties! cost me significantly less that the 1200 smackers they realy are!

  7. OK maybe this is a crazy idea, but I think those would actually be DIYable with the right supplies. OK here’s where the nerdy “help my dad in the garage” part of me comes out:
In the 2nd pic (the close up) you’ve taken such a good photo that I can see that the metal bits are big wing nuts and hex nuts slid up over the heel. Then of course embellished with many many crystals. The metal bits could literally be picked up at a hardware store, amazing! That does explain the heavyness though, wow!

  8. those are amazing! They remind me of a vintage blue rhinestone necklace I own somewhere… There’s something sort of vintage “crown jewels” about these shoes even though the profile is so modern.

  9. hey suze, there is a pair of Gareth Pugh wedges on US ebay with your name on them!!

  10. ¬£40?! That’s INSANE. I swear that’s cheaper than some shoes from New Look. Probably the bargain of all bargains

  11. Susie, you have been my shoe hero since the first time I read your blog. This is a great reminder of why. xo

  12. hi! they’re up there now! i’ll have more listed within the next weeks tho. if you see a pair you like, just let me know. i ony have the one up now tho…..
    thanks for looking!!

  13. Awesome shoes!
Gonna make tattoo fonts with this kind of nice shoes, but if you’ve got fashion brands or revolutionary designing ideas i can also create your exclusive tattoo fonts. LOL

  14. Hey, this is pretty good stuff! Although this is my first visit here, posts very insightful and refreshing, . Keep up the good work.

  15. amazing find.
i’ve always said that the mark of a good shoe is whether you could knock someone out if you smacked them over the head with it

  16. I want to know how you wear them with socks without slipping and sliding around in them. I also want someone to invent some kind of velcro strip that sticks the socks to the shoes…

  17. Those heels are very decked out but no one has commented on the socks could have done a better styling job with the right sock It would have followed through with the entire look wearing some rhinestone encrusted embellished ankle socks or scrunched down embellished knee hi’s
