Minnie Me Please!

Minnieearj This comment chain reaction is getting out of hand!  First someone alerts me to Etsy seller ChiChi who turns out to supposedly be a dodgy factory churning out seemingly nice things and then someone reacts by commenting that it (rightly so) goes against the ethos of Etsy, thus giving me the link to her own Etsy store.  I'm so glad that I'm sad/bored enough to click on this comment chain because then I wouldn't have found Jennifer Loiselle's Etsy London-based store that sells headbands that are in fact made by hand.  I got so excited especially when she had a lone pair of Mickey Mouse-esque ears in her collection seeing as the My Mickey Ears Auction is being showcased at Start this week and feted with a party, rendering me without a pair of special ears to wear to join the festivities.  I'm guessing Jennifer might also make a better hash out of customising Mickey Mouse ears than say some of the 'sleb participants…erm… Amir Khan, Peter Andre…John Terry?!?

Still, the likelihood is that she isn't going to be sad enough to read this post and think "I know, I'll spend my Sunday making a pair of ears for some random blogger…".  So I'll look instead to buying up one of her head creations… most of which are fabric covered pom pom orientated.  I especially like the satin ruched headphones pieces she takes seeing as I have a thing about having BIG headphones.  I'm happy to have the effect of ornate headphones without the sound capabilities especially since my iPod has decided to die a slow slow death.

  1. aww i was just looking at this stuff on etsy the other day. she’s great!

  2. I don’t know why I didn’t think twice about it. I guess I’m easily fooled. I figured maybe she was a little fobby (fresh off boat for those who don’t know this acronym) and didn’t know how to pick a nice name. The pictures seemed legit. Sorry to Susie and to those who ordered because of my link which led to the previous post. Ug, I feel horrible about it.

  3. Wow, I was actually was in a little bit of disbeleif when I saw the prices for some of the chi chi clothes. I knew it was too good to be true, although it’s a bit dissapointing as I had my eye on a few things…
Those minnie ears, on the other hand, and AMAAAAZING! They’re cute without being… too cute? If that makes sense. Not too kitschy, if you will. Can’t wait to see the outfits you come up with in those!!

  5. How funny! I just saw these ear muffs and thought, how wild, I just discovered some really fabulous ones that look just like it on Etsy – and then I realised, it’s Jennifer’s shop! It’s not that much of a coincidence considering I found her via your posting on ChiChi, so thank you.
Discovered a lovely ear muff look last March, on IT Girl: http://streetstylelondon.blogspot.com/2009/03/it-girl.html
I plan to buy some from Jennifer, even tho I’m not normally an ear muff type of girl, simply because she’s so nice and they’re fabulous & original – and practical in this changeable weather.
