Countdown the 100

Who was the slow mo who completely missed the boat last year during the ASOS Ltd 100 project, selling 100 unique one-off London College of Fashion graduate pieces online, with 100% of profits going to the students?  Well actually, it was more like a speed boat since ALL 100 pieces sold out in TWO minutes online when it launched.  So this year, I have been given a bit of a head start.  Well sort of.  For some god forsaken reason, despite my remedial action with the project going over my head last time round, ASOS invited me to judge who will be going into this year's ASOS Ltd 100 which will be going on sale in the beginning of July.  So today was spent at London College of Fashion umming and aahing over colours, fits and fabrics.  Alongside myself, Markus Lupfer and menswear designer Tim Soar was also there to pass their approving/disapproving eye.  I'm really quite excited about the selection we made, especially the creme de la creme of the bunch which I'm ITCHING to post about but have to hold my fingers back.  I can't put up too many pics of course until the final selection is announced but we can expect…

…gigantic heavy knits, digital prints, laser cut outs, sherbet colours, camel coat perfection, printed leggings, metal plate embellishment, denim boyf jackets, fringed leather, directional menswear, asymmetrical coats, curtain draw, clear pvc, curtain smocking, distressed chiffon panelling…

And no, I don't get an actual head start as to the purchase of the pieces so the clicking power is still all yours…. I'll be in the online scrum…

  1. Ooh that little taster is enough to get me excited to see what the rest of the collection will be like!
    I can’t wait! x

  2. Oh I can’t wait for these to go live, I love getting to check out the future designers, only check out mind because like yourself I was not quick enough last year!! 🙁 booooo!! The print looks absolutely beautiful, sorta remings me of when a diamond or crystal catches the light and the colours it sends off, stunning!

  3. I must encourage myself to direct my anticipation towards seeing the pics, instead of actually scoring a piece myself. To do otherwise would be suicide.
So for real: when it comes time to post images, just go nuts.

  4. Hi SB,
I’m new to blogland- at least from beyond the key tapper that is. I love your blog, I live in Paris but I grew up in London and your blog channels a bit of London spirit.
If you want some Paris dreamy I’m happy to be of service.
    Eyes on.
    Sophie
