The collaboration game is ripe for anyone's picking.  It's perfectly understandble for any brand to flock towards a new collaboration to spice up their solo status if the fit is right.  Even better when you take an unexpected brand and pair it up with something special.  This is the case with Sportmax's Carte Blanche project which I wrote about for work a while back.  Art director/artist Christophe Brunnquell (he art directed Purple magazine in its formative years…) has helped Sportmax realise the first chapter of its Carte Blanche project where artist/collaborator is given a freehand to do whatever they want to Sportmax's blank canvas garments.  In this instance, Brunnquell has printed silk tunics, tees and tops with a Japanese Y≈çkai-inspired monochrome print that goes very nicely with my lazy tee mood, not wanting to do much else but to wack on a tee and some big eff-off shoes.  The three garment styles are available on Yoox now but I had to pump for the tunic, which has the added advantage of a wavy frilled side and a toggle to take it up or down.

  1. Aw. You look lovely in that. I also like your hair up, too! So as for Sportmax– I hadn’t given the brand much of a thought until a friend invited me to a shopping night in the store, and the designs were… not half bad! But still pricey. Good working separates, I guess.

  2. the toggle option is a nice touch! i’m also loving all your cozy gray knit knee socks & (elbow warmers?). the layering is a nice look! i’m using you as my style inspiration while i’m studying abroad in London!

  5. Re: The Camera….it’s actually the purchase of the boyf…. his gadgetry not mine…. the best way really seeing as I’d probably spill Rioja on it or something….

  6. I’m considering to buy the T-shirt!
It’s hard to believe that Sportmax made such great steps in terms of style…
    and Maxmara too, actually.
Maxmara keeps giving a a bad image here in Italy (they worked a lot on their collections, but they didn’t try to improve their image as much… but it doesn’t matter, in the end the clothes count).
