I'll be honest and say that the only reason why I've been stalking H&M these past few weeks is to see whether these S/S 09 cycling shorts to the left had dropped in or not. No jersey bandage dress or coral neoprene-esque jacket was half as tempting as the odd colour combination of pink, yellow, black and pale blue panelling in these shorts.
It was a ¬£9.99 joy that I couldn't wait to have just so I could colour match it elsewhere in the most direct way possible and today was the perfect spring day opportunity to do that via a vintage yellow satin jacket (from Mama Lau's closet…), a Topshop light denim bustier top, a Graey panelled tee, that ye old faithful pink PVC skirt and some pink press day freebie tights.
It's the sort of colour matching that is frighteningly gauche and matchy matchy to the point of anal that in the end it sort of ends up becoming endearing. Somewhere along in the realm of it's so bad it's good. I also ate a mass of chestnut paste, green tea cream and red bean gooeyness today that runs along those lines. Today I was intent on tri/quad colouring my outfit and food and as a result I'll probably be reverting to a mass of grey and beige food tomorrow due to the colour OD.
You’ve styled them fantastically and it’s a great photo. The coral neoprene-esque jacket sounds very intriguing to me..
you are incredibly good in mixing bright and colourful pieces together to a great look.
ooh you got those shorts, nice! I love wearing mommy clothes 🙂
xx-LJ from SOS!
the pink looks totally different in the two lightings…
Tricks of the trade, I suppose.
Damn – I love pretty much all your stuff. S’riously.
What is the fabric of your skirt? It looks like this: http://toomanytights.typepad.com/toomanytights/2008/12/red-wet-look-tights-by-me-.html
Oh the colors in that picture are incredible! You seriously matched the shades to a T, love the anal-ness of it all lol!
You look like a very fashionable superheroine. 🙂
I love the matchy-matchy ness of this, and I can’t get over those bike-shorts. I’ll have to keep on the lookout for them!

I’m glad you didn’t have to experience the early 90s in Australia, Suzie B

congrats on snagging these! stalking h&m seems the only way to shop there, their turn over is way too fast! i’ll go in store next week to see the shorts for myself, seem like a great addition under flared skirts
too cute! I love how the colours of your outfit possibly directed your choice of food. not sure if that has even happened to me. Perhaps its the mood that it creates..
Wonderful outfit! I love how everything goes together. The pair of fuschia tights is such a natural extension of the bike shorts.
Now I need to get myself to H&M and get myself a pair…
You know you are possibly going to be responsible for H&M’s ENTIRE sales of those shorts. Plus they are lush.
Argh – you are fearless, Bubble – FEARLESS. I love those shorts…
so matchy matchy – i love it.
i desperately want a pair of floral cycling shorts that were on the topshop site then disappeared.
Susie, you look like a super hero….I LOVE IT!
love the look!!
gosh i just wish people here are more fun in mix&match
so happy to see spring colors.
i have been waiting for these to drop too! i got them last week-and have no idea what or how to wear them!! im not gna return them no way….but i still need to figure them out! you rock them good, but i wnt be able to pull it off like you do! i was also waiting for the leotard in this pattern and material, but alas my lack of funds/save for holiday needs have prevented me from owning such a piece! pah well, atlest i got the shorts

ok, it’s totally different but somehow you remind me of the opera singer from The Fifth Element-

the colours are different. so many things are different but it’s just an overall feeling of playing with beauty and the future.
