The Better Imitation

Photographer Amy Gwatkin made me laugh when she sent me her post entitled 'Self Portrait as Susie Bubble.'…

"Since I've had a fringe, I've had an irresistable desire to emulate my fave fash blogger's cute head-down, look-at-this-awesome/bonkers-outfit, and have tried about 100 times but not been happy with it til today."

All very well except I wouldn't really call it an imitation so much as it's a better version seeing as Amy has….
…a pink do that I've never had the guts to do do my boring tresses even though I should be encouraged by the fact that Anna in the office (Nicola Formichetti's assistant) puts lilac/pink/pale blue through her hair on a regular basis…
…what looks to be a white washed studio ready for all kinds of blogger photo shenanigans…
…an array of layers from all kinds of origins (hand me downs, vintage, salvaged finds, on loan from U2 frontman???) that puts my currently lazy, boring wardrobe to shame…

"Taxi Driver' cardigan – Vintage Italian from Retro Man – ¬£15, Black taffeta box jacket – Charity shop on Lambs     Conduit St – ¬£1.50, Pink cushion trim – Donated from ex-studio mate, Blue and white stripey sailor tee – Was my Mum's, then my little brother's, Grey knitted jumper dress – Handed down from Rebecca, Black mock croc and silver belt – Dalston Oxfam shop – 49p, Black leather trousers – on loan from Bono (does she mean Bono Bono…?), Slightly sinister little-girl white socks – Primarni, Silver tap shoes – someone painted on the blk toe caps to make them look like Chanel! Retro Woman – ¬£5"

I'll soon have to hang up the blogger's cap if people like Amy persist with their hilarious wit and genius charity shop rummaging…

  3. Anna is my best friend’s cousin, she’s fantastic. I’m so envious of her hair too. And yours for that matter.
