I apologise first for my lack of posting…. just to demonstrate how titch the keyboard is making it impossible for me to post properly without at least making 20 typos, here is a wee pic of the wee keyboard. iMac in the room is all very well but when you’re waving around an infrared keyboard that may or may not type the letter s, it just doesn’t bode well for blogs like mine.
So I am in Paris but not buying up a storm because shock shock horror horror, my life doesn’t actually revolve around spending like there’s no tomorrow and I do indeed have other things to do to fill my time here which is sadly coming to an end tonight. Still, there has been a few things of note… namely revolving around the wickedness that is Mama Shelter where I’m staying. Titchy keyboard aside there is a
A lift which is covered in tidbits printed on a plasticy sheet that I love inhaling in the mornings // A hair-man mask over my bedside light…
A mirror on each floor that is scribbled with local events happening each day where I like to reminisce about the times when I took photos in the mirror…

Some of you might know that the big birthday (yes, a quarter of a century, forthieth of a millennium…I know!) was yesterday. Thanks for all the Facebook messages which I still have not figured out how to reply to. I gifted myself a visit to Versailles SPECIFICALLY for the Jeff Koons exhibition which is ending soon and wore an outfit best suited for standing in front of his Balloon Dog piece in magenta and smiling like a lunatic… the lace printed pink dress which I got at the Angels sale and some Falke lace tights over pink ones is fast becoming an outfit on repeat… which angrily reminds me of recent accusations that my wardrobe is somewhat of a designer fest which a) it isn’t and b) who cares if it is… I can’t be arsed to expand on the subject anymore because I’m still cheesed off that it put a big fat pock mark on my birthday weekend away…possibly all the rich and tasty food I’ve been scoffing has also made another actual pock mark butin comparison to the words flying around, I’m far happier having the real spotty McCoy.
You can’t see too clearly but the ruffled bum bag is also being worn….it is the natural tourist thing to do afterall…

Happy birthday! I turned 25 on August, so I know the weird feeling… And I try not to think the number 26. Ouch!
I love that outfit! Who would have thought that matching a dress and tights of such a distinct print would look so good. Oh, yes, you Susie!
I saw that Koons scultpure two years ago during the Venice Architecture Biennale. It was floating on the water next to the gondolas. Too bad I wasn’t wearing a bright pink outfit too!
Happy happy birthday! The print of the dress against the tights is epic and the outfit against the balloon animal sculpture is kerazy. Amazing as always.
Happy birthday! That is such a fun outfit.
What a coincidence. I just blogged about Koons’ work last night!

Happy belated! Ciao bella.
Oh my goodness, happy birthday Susie!
You don’t look a day over 20 ;).
Oooh, that sculpture is so amazing, its only fitting that you’re wearing such an awesome outfit next to it! Most importantly, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!! 😀
Susie – the outfit is 100% dope.
Repeat. Repeat!!
Also, my young friend, that lighting fixture is the furry, lovable Hans Solo side kick from Star Wars!
Happy belated birthday!
Your tights are amazing
x
Love the outfit. That exhibit was on the roof of the Met all summer here in NY. Mixed feelings about it. I think your outfit is more artistic!
Happy Birthday Susie! I know the feeling, turning 20-something can be a bit of a pill to swallow. But you look amazing and your outfit is on point as usual. Wish I were there at the Koons exhibit!
Keep up the great work!
Oh Susie that Angels dress looks wonderful on you. That first shot of it under your wonderful coat (whose is it?)looks like a modern take on those wallpaper patterns. Love it! oh take in the Balenciaga and Issey shops.
i think this is awesome…u pull it off effortlessly and flawlessly
I am mentally sending you hearts, the pinky lacy outfit is amazing!
Aw, you weren’t smiling like a lunatic, you were smiling like a cute, happy girl on her birthday.
Love the blog, best wishes.
Hey, Happy Birthday Susie! Lucky you going to the Jeff Koons…LOVE the dress n tights combo too!
Belated birthday greetings! I can’t think of a nicer self-gift than a trip to Versailles…cue memories of many happy hours spent tooling around the gardens on a rented bicycle or feeding the fish at le Hameau.
Doing the same pattern overall is dangerous but the way you did it, it looks beauutifuul!
That is one tiny keyboard! I wouldn’t be able to type on something so small. And I saw the Jeff Koons exhibit when I went to Versailles in October. Interesting artwork, but for me having it at Versailles seemed a little off.
Ooh I’ve seen so many adverts for the Jeff Koons exhibition on the metro but haven’t made it over there yet, will have to remember to wear something cool and offbeat when I go! Bonne anniversaire for yesterday 🙂

If your outfit belonged to me, I would repeat it too. It’s great and how perfect is it against the Koons? Glad you enjoyed the exhibition!
Happy belated, my dear! You look adorable in all this pink and lace. =)
Your outfit looks good with that sculpture.
Happy belated birthday! I’m heading towards the 3s soon and its terrifying.
I’d love to see the Koons show at the Versailles – must be an interesting setting for his work.
and thanks for letting us know about MamaShelter- it looks amazing and surprisingly reasonable. I’ll definitely have to stay there next time I’m in Paris.
x
Happy belated birthday! 🙂

Dear Susie, hope you had a wonderful birthday!! 🙂
Spending it in Paris must be a fun and interesting experience. The pink lace outfit is fabulous, so are the white shoes!!
ahh i love jeff koons’ balloon work.
and your pink, looks lovley.
🙂
Happy Birthday! You look lovely. Love the dress and the coat
Hair-man mask? Good grief, Susie, that’s Chewbacca! Don’t make us go all Star Wars on you next time you’re up…
happy birthday..
and the hair man mask thingy is actually a mask of chewbecca. a character from star wars. nickenamed chewwy. lol. he only grunts.
Such a doofus….. actually Steve didn’t even figure out it was Chewy (I DO know who that is….even though Star Wars doesn’t rank highly on my list of films….)…. we had to take a second look at it after someone pointed it out here….
i saw the jeff koons exhibition when i was in chicago. guessing it’s all the same stuff.
i love that dress and tights matchy-ness. also good to see another blogger who is 25. oaps unite.
Happy Birthday!
(I was gonna make the same Wookie-related comment but see it’s already been pointed out to oblivion 😉 )
The exhibition seems cool. I hope it wasn’t too cold to see the gardens, they’re nice even in winter (was there 2 years ago)
Your dress, tighs, and shoes are all so amazing!!
look its chewbecca from star wars… haha, supercool that is.
I like that the pink goes with the baloon behind, your outfit looks lovely especially the tights.
