So time-strapped was I (and *cough* lazy getting up in the mornings) that I couldn’t even fit in a stroll down to the Lanvin store on rue du Fau bourg Saint Honore. Oh, and the fact that I had seriously depleted funds would mean that wandering down this painfully lux street might make me want to slit my wrists at the end of it. Anyway, friends have been banging on about this winter display in the windows of Lanvin where Alber Elbaz has assembled a cocktail of animals (follows on nicely from the safari outfits from La Roux, eh?) who all have puffed up chests and look especially proud because they’re bejewelled by Lanvin. They kindly snapped these pics for me and seeing as I haven’t done too much window snapping of late (I’m not impressed with Selfridges at the mo…my usual go-to place for good windows…), these are perfect specimens…quite literally…
Question, if the kangaroo can pull of fluro red shiny bob and long eyelashes, can I?

is the kangaroo just rocking one faux lash? hot.
I like the monkey one, but the rest just look like stuffed animals with wigs on and plastic persons. Not my stuff, doesnt look lux to me…
I love these windows.
oh that is so odd!
charming
I love these windows, such a nice departure from the typical Christmas stuff!
wow, i want a tiger to lounge on! x
It’s just brilliant. I love little monkeys and to think a monkey with Lanvin? Perfect!
Those are some wild displays!

The flamingo with the wig is hilarious!
amazing window displays..
however i think i’ll go with those who find stuffed animals a bit creepy. i feel like burying them in my back yard so the can r.i.p. then again, i do not wear real fur either. x, A.
POP! 20th anniversery issue!
Intriguing…these would make for quirky Christmas decorations around the house…

Whoah! Amazing windows! So creative and un-Christmas-like..love it!
I LOVE animals – so this is nothing for me – bad taste
greets from germany 🙂
Love the flamingo with the lavender wig, some of it is a bit blah though.
I want that lavendar wig!
I LOVE Alber but I’m really not sure about these window displays… The chains on the kangaroo look pretty awful. I find the whole concept rather uncreative actually.
That Lanvin boutique is massive! I remember my jaw dropping to the floor when I saw their window display. It was all black and white items and they had retro plastic sunglasses (from the flea market…I asked..).
I think the current concept is very creative.
xx-LJ from SOS!
GREAT…now American’s will arrive in Australia expecting to see tranny-esque Kangaroo’s – thanks ALBER!
amazingly creative! the kangaroo is me fave..
Are these actually dead animals? I kinda have respect for animals so… i don’t know if I’m more angry ore discusted.
vivaaa dead animals !! viva furs !! viva Albert !!
It’s doubtful that Alber has gone and slain animals for his display at the store…more likely that the stuffed animals have come from a zoology department at a university or a museum… in which case they are probably ye olde…
I reckon you should try some fluro wigs.
Real animals? sry but – just Disgusting..
