You know the score, I say little about shows until they really start sinking in. However, I always edge in a Marc Jacobs show comment somehow every season and this season is no different. I just checked out the whole collection, and am totally charmed. I think it’s a pretty bubbly collection too (meaning you of course dear), what with all the layering and wrapping. I haven’t been blown away by MJ in a little while, and am loving this collection.
I often find fictional characters are the most stylish of all my fashion icons.

I think there was something really American about this collection. I mean, with the gingham and the hats and everything — the aesthetics seemed very specific to this country. I’m glad that he chose Gershwin..
i saw the collection and i have to say, i’m a bit disappointed. these first exits with the hats had chanel x dries van noten x vintage ysl written all over it — in my opinion. perhaps the chanel feeling was so strong b/c of the runway presentation. didn’t karl do the long mirrored catwalk a few years ago?
only those last looks of pastel evening dresses felt like an expansion of his previous collection. i know he’s derivative, but this collection felt too much like someone else’s.
totally agree. they look better without the hats BUT I have to say that I don’t think that the shows are aboout the girls’ faces looking good- they’re about making the clothes look good and honestly, I loved the show and like the way the hats looked with the clothing.
