Ok, so the title of the post is pretty crude especially if people out there are buyers of Rick Owens and worship his haven-like boutiques (sombre havens, mind you…) on a daily basis and honestly, I would if I could but of course it breaks my heart that it isn’t possible so then it would not be a bad idea to go down a few price rungs and buy into these brands. Pudel is pretty self-explanatory as a brand; unisex, androgynous, ambiguous, highly wearable but in an interesting way, you get the idea. But of course, I’m taking an even more vested interest in them since they have now launched an online shop and their AW08-9 collection is looking pretty swish…
Muu Baa is getting much lovin’ from Topshop in their concessions area (a commercial, if obvious platform, non?) but they have now gone solo and launched their online website. It’s a pared down All Saints without the incessant grafitti prints and unnecessary deconstruction and at a slightly lower price range too. Their leather jackets are especially worth checking out…
I suppose people will say it’s an insult to even compare Mr Owens’ work to the aforementioned brands but I’m merely suggesting that obtaining a similar ‘vibe’ would not be such a bad idea.
Unisex, androgynous, ambiguous oh my! You just named my three main factors when looking for clothing. And seriously OH MY GOD those leggings from Pudel!! I am dying. All the coated pieces! I will be keeping a close watch on their online shop! I already have my eye on a few things.
Both seem like good choices for interesting ‘basics’ that will go well with alot! Although i might be a bit biased due to the sheer amount of grey tones and jersey pieces (both of which i am slightly obsessed with – separately and together!)

The leather jacket with the angled zipper is splendid. Though, I do tend to get a bit giddy when zippers are set at odd angles and in eccentric patterns.
I really love the grey basics and the drapey jersey of the the black top!
Cute, but a lot of the leather jackets seem to have completely ripped off either Rick Owens or Mike and Chris.
I know the male model. He always does seem to have better clothes than me…sigh.
