Made of China…

As much as I like inhaling the fumes of freshly made plastic goods, the tag ‘Made in China’ doesn’t fill me with enthusiasm.  Made OF China however is a whole different story…  In fact, I think this is the first time I have encountered ceramic jewellery and at the Urbis centre in Manchester (where I am this weekend…) is where I came across these bone china teacup bracelets by Abigail Mary-Rose Clerk.  Adorned with ribbons, painted flowers, trinkets and slinky bit of silver, they’re probably more ornate than your average tea cup…  Made in China?  Made of China?  I think I know which one to opt for if I’m feeling extra careful and non clutzy…

  1. The last one is so ideal. Their lovely, I’d just be terrified that I wouild bump into something and it would smash into millions of little pieces. Not a risk I’d like to take.

  2. I love the look of these, I was recently lured towards ceramic accessories myself in the form of barbie rings at mixco.co.uk, but am unsure how long either would actually survive being worn by me.

  3. Oh wow they are gorgeous but I would so scared to break one of them? I’m too hyper-active for that kind accessory. They strike me as a drinking tea while wearing pearls kind of thing.

  4. Isn’t the Urbis just great? I stumbled upon it when I was looking for shelter from the rain… ended up seeing the Matthew Williamson exhibition… which is always a lovely surprise on a rainy day.

  5. Those are delish! I must have some!
Now I need to track them down.
    Hmmmm….
    Thanks Susie for finding these.
    Luv
