Still no sunshine to be found for prancing-around-in-dress time, but something else has cheered me up immensely and that is Thelma’s AW08-9 collection. I personally don’t need any encouragement when it comes to trying things on the head and accessorizing it to the maximum but other people might need coaxing. The beauty of Icelandic, Paris-based designer Thelma’s headgear is that it might be something quite exaggerated stuck on a headband which means it’s not at all fiddly and she gets the balance of restraint and drama just right in each of her pieces. She might go all out for private clients like Bjork (yay for the Icelandic collective…) but in her ready to wear pieces, there’s nothing terrifying or OTT about her headbands adorned with oversized rosettes or pieces of crochet that demosntrates her Ecole Lesage (Atelier de Broderie) training. Yet there’s still that bit of an ‘edge’ that probably means you won’t be seeing these on the Gossip Girl headband crew just yet (give it a few more seasons and they’ll do an SATC where the fashion just goes into overdrive….)…
Oh Thelma…

LOVE THEM! they’re gorgeous, these will definately suit you Miss Bubble. I love the 3rd one the best, but i am desperate for the blue lace head piece on her site! gimme!
P.S i’ve put a couple of my old pieces of art on my blog if anyone’s interested in taking a look. They’re a bit crusty to me now but i’d love to know what people think. No fashion on there as of yet.
Her illustrations are magnificent…
cute! Still think I’m gonna stick to my AA black lame headband for now…my coworkers already think I’m crazy enough…

Nice! Huge coincidence that I’m in themiddles of a DIY headband project right now.
I can’t help but imagine those headbands with the fabulously fungal creations of Amy Sarabi!
Sushy H Рquelle coïncidence!
I today too participated in rosettes on heads, courtesy of Johnny Loves Susie.

Very “you.”
gorgeous headbands… I love your blog, is my daily catch up with the latests, you know everything girl!
Lovely hair bands! I´m a little shy on accesorising, but hoping to evolve encouraged by you :)! You always make such innovative posts.
Sorry to “use” your comment box for my purposes, but I have to ask if someone around here knows what has happened to StyleBytes and Agathe? Her usually so lively blog has been silent for almost a month now and in her last post she was getting ready to go on a trip to Stockholm. I¬¥m confused, hope everything is ok with her.
any clue who the model is?
Love the hairbands! I would love the rosette ones and the embroidered looking ones are totally wearable.

I like all of the headbands. She makes really good headwear.
Bland ?
The remind me of hats. Well the third picture does. The hats that ladies used to wear a long time ago.
How gorgeous are they? What a pity they aren’t available online.
Although the idea is not new, the hairbands look really charming and beautiful! I wish we would see more of these on the streets, so I could dare myself to wear some 🙁
Soo damn gorgeous !!
