It’s a funny thing being a hardcore fashion blogger and getting stuck into things that probably will make the circulation around the blogger rounds but outside of that (on the streets yo’), you won’t spot it at all nor will talking to people who aren’t blog-friendly about a particular trend mean anything to them. It’s a peculiar sort of new-gen fashion insularity. Dip dying is surely one of those trends. The DIY dip dyed tights did its blogging rounds but as yet have failed to materialise in reality, save for the ones that I wear on my legs. However I’m thinking these dip dyed, subtly faded jeans by Peoples Market that collide an overtly seasonal trend and a colossal populist staple might do the trick of disseminating dip-dyed/ombre legs out there.
Two See are in the process of relaunching their online store and these green and grey (yes they are in fact grey…) will be online to buy for ¬£44. I gather they are men’s jeans but Peoples Market sized 28 are an ok skinny fit for me, not too loose or leggings-like. I also believe more colours might be available at Number 22 on Carnaby Street as they’re usually well-stocked in all the Peoples Market stuff. Whilst I’m quite keen on the grey ones, a purple or a blue would do me very nicely so I’ll pop in soon to investigate…
Oooh… get me with my TWO posts about jeans in a fortnight… fear not though as the skirt number has meanwhile increased from 278 to about 285….

I am a big fan of tights–but probably wouldn’t go through the trouble {unless we were talking metallics}. I’ve actually seen dip-dyed tights, probably done by hand, at at least one shop in the city where I live. I’m guessing other tight shops on the same street would also have them. Not going to name the street cause I know you have a lot of readers in this city! So mean, I know. Mostly I’m loving having been lumped into anything “new gen” as August will see me turning the big…cough, sputter…4-0.
it’s so subtle it’s barely noticable! specially on the grey ones. i think i definately prefer it on tights.
Thanks for the comment on my blog! 😀
I must say, even though I have no idea what I’d wear them with, I quite like those green jeans. I think it’s a bit too subtle on the grey.
That green is very cool.
There were some customized by Sue stemp for a Teen Vogue and I have been contemplating DIY-ing some up ever since. Purple or blue would be lovely but I’m not sure about the green. apparently they have dip dye leggings in Topshop!
Danish brand Whiite did some dip dyed jeans for their aw09 collection. I really like them, but don’t think I could pull them off.
Check them out on my post here: http://modemedmere.blogspot.com/2008/02/copenhagen-fashion-week-rtzou-og-whiite.html
I love this trend, its so fun and surprisingly versatile. Although, where i am (canada) i’ve been noticing the dip dye on clothing (hoodies, tees etc..) and not on tights. I like both the subtlety of the grey. The effect adds some nice interest to the standard skinny. the green is out of this world (in a good way. i hope i see more of this trend!
they might have got this idea from teen vogue! i bet jeans would be just as easy as tights, but i’m trying to avoid trousers in general as always, it’s just too damn hard to find a good fitting pair!
I like the green a lot.
hey I love ur blog, the pieces are really fun and informative for fashion maniac lik me…kudos fashionistas.btw love the green pants…loved da colour
I agree on the new-gen fashion insularity comment that you’ve said. I tried to find two-toned tights (a color each leg) in Singapore, but I just can’t seem to find it – yet a reader said she saw some two-toned jeans in a neighbourhood shop filled with ‘bad taste’ clothing…
and now as you post up these dip-dyed jeans I am 100% sure I can find these in a corner of a neighbourhood clothes shop in Singapore for SGD10, as the fashion scene here definitely hasn’t gotten on the dip-dye trend yet.
Number 22 has just gone online too, selling Peoples Market clothing amogst other stuff. I’m told the dip-dyed jeans will be on the site very soon.
