True to my word, I did pop into Selfridges to pick up my intended choice of Osman Yousefzada for Mango dress and thank god there hasn’t been that mad rush. I found out a) the prices are in fact ALL ¬£50 and under and b) there’s a few more styles that aren’t on the website and though hard to describe (and you’ll just have to take my word for it) equally impressive – we’re talking one-shoulders, more basic LBD’s and a blue V-shaped trim across a dress.
But I just honed in on the one I always wanted and since I’m slowly taking wee baby steps towards realising the necessity of leaving things well alone when the right garment pops up, this was one of those occasions when the dress says a lot without needing much done to it.
Of course, that didn’t last too long as I ‘effed it all up today with some mad leggings and a lot of fuschia. Did I not say baby steps?
all under £50?! argh makes my night even worse, damn stupid uni email!
the gold part makes the shape of the dress so subtle but effective, with your hair pulled back it’s really a stunner
wow, all less than £50!
definitely worth a visit this weekend.
this one is also my favourites from what i’ve seen. not sure if i really need any black dresses in my life, but for that price i shall definitely be checking them out.
I went on Monday and the dress I loved was £80. I guess it is now sold out.
I did not see the dress you have on. It’s beautiful.
ohhhhhh i want it!!!! it looks so pretty on you…
It’s fantastic! Nice neckline, lovely shape. And it looks great with the fuchsia, too.
It looks like it is coming to the US (!!) as I poked around and found prices in US dollars on their site. I’ll have to hop in and take a look-see if they’re already in…
in the second pic you look very ladylike… something about the skirt and your hair pulled back it’s just posh!
Those boots are amazing!
It’ll be sold out now – it looks amazing just as it is. Great piece for playing with as well, the leggings are a lot of fun.
such a pretty dress 🙂 the shape probably would look horrible on me, but it looks really great on you. the envy, it eats at me.
Lovely dress. I took a peek at your other way as well and I like the mad leggings against the gold brocade. Messing up pretty things is fun…
I badly want to pester Mango India to get this line in…chances are they won’t bother, it kind of sucks living in a third world country where everything in the shops is either boring or horrid.
On a more cheery note- the dress is stunning! It looks great any way you wear it, but this is the, in a way, a very strong ‘statement’- the lack of adornment and your pulled-back hair are perfect.
Looks Great!
Half of the time i spend in art class at school is looking through your blog. :]
I hope the collection comes to Singapore…
I had thought it was more of a bronze colour, but I like the gold all the same. Killer shoes, by the way!
50 quid and cute…not going to happen on this side of Indian ocean!
Fantastic, that god skirt looks so good on you 🙂 not everyone could get away with that
I wish we had selfridges here 😉
it is lovely! the pockets just make it perfect
oh my god gorgeous dress! and those shoes….man I want those shoes lol
great dress! and i’m still loving those shoes. i checked out your outfit variation with the leggings and i don’t think you eff-ed up at all
i;m loving the neckline and pockets!! so cute!
Just a word of warning – some of the dresses were pictured in the press shots with slim shiny gold belts but when I went to look at this collection in Selfridges on the first day the belts were missing. The sales assistants said they weren’t supposed to come with belts – until I pointed out the discreet belt loops. They checked the store room and the other delivery boxes but they were nowhere to be found. The one-sleeved dress and the chiffon backed dress (as pictured in Susies earlier Osman post) are certainly meant to be sold WITH so make sure you get one, as without I think they look just a little ‘less’.
Hiya – I’ve just got back from Selfridges and got this dress with the blue flash for ¬£50 http://stylebubble.typepad.com/.shared/image.html?/photos/uncategorized/2008/03/06/osmanm3.jpg
They’ve restocked on all of dresses in all sizes but Natmonster is rihgt – they still don’t have the belts!
Ooh and I went to the Rodnik sale on Monday http://stylebubble.typepad.com/rodniksale.JPG and got loads of lovely cob-webby tops for £5 each Рthanks for the tip Susie!
Wow, Susie, I love this! It is superb. What a great shape for you—and we get to see your legs!
It’s amazing!
Incidentally, I was rather sad to see that my £50 dress costs only 49.95 Euro
But hey – lucky folks in Europe 🙂
SO cute. you are adorable.
Thanks for the belt tips! Also just to say that the dresses are going to be available worldwide but as to when… that I’m not sure of…

(sorry about the glut of comments – I keep thinking of more things to add)
Where did you get those boots, they are amazing!!!!???!?!?!!?
seriously those boots are amazing please tell us where you got them from x
You look so pretty Susie! love the dress
That dress suits you perfectly.
Can’t believe those boots aren’t instantly recognisable – they are of course the Balenciaga knock-offs from Victoria’s Secret…Sam Edelman I think…. they’re sold out though I believe…
When and where will it be possible to purchase this collection in the U.S.? I am madly in love with at least two of these frocks!
What baby steps? You’ve leaped to absolute perfection—clean, spare, modern—a gorgeous look on you—Bravo!

That was the one I wanted too 🙂 I’m going to look for it tonight… Loving it combined with the pink too.
The Osman Yousefzada dresses have just appeared on the Mango website (I’ve been compulsively refreshing the page all day!) and the product photographs are so disappointing. I’ve totally gone off the one I’ve been eyeing since the black and white promotional shots appeared. And none of them have the gold belts. How do people think the pictures compare with the actual dresses?
great find.
and the boots are DIVINE.
Seen the pictures on the website, not the best, they look really faded, and don’t really compare to the actual garments (which are true black). What I really love about this collection, is that the fabrics are really designer, and do not look cheap AT ALL. The belt story is horrid… the idiots told me that they are not available until April in Mango stores, so I will have to go back. The baby doll dress needs to be seen, to be believed, aswell as the ruffle around the waist dress.
