How could I NOT be swayed by the idea of a 10 piece little black dress collection designed by Osman Yousefzada for Mango? Especially after seeing this advert and finding out I don’t even have to go into Mango to buy the dresses (I find the Oxford Circus store a bit of a headache for some reason…), and that it will be available at Selfridges. The term ‘LBD’ should not really get me all excited but behold, it’s one of those dresses where you scroll down and something interesting magically appears and in this case, it’s a panel of brushed bronze, a colour that I associate with Yousefzada’s last collection. I’m pretty sure more of interesting details will surface after seeing the full 10-piece collection.
P.S. His latest AW08-9 collection was infused with THAT shade of cobalt blue that makes my heart beat which has now made me set on wearing vibrant blue on Valentines day as opposed to to the conventional red/pink.
Wow…now I covet that too (I wonder if it’s really as stunning in real life, as it is in the image?). Lovely one..
It’s about time someone did a simple LBD with present currency, and this is it. The versatility of that dress is amazing. I am quite liking a new spareness in color and cut that I see popping up abroad.
Here, we are still stuck with le loud geometric print in punchdrunk colors and patterns. It is being worn by the girls on the corner who snap their fingers and gum at boys.
Ah lovely Osman: I have two pieces I bought from his London studio. (A stunning very formal structured black silk grosgrain cocktail dress I had ordered and a cotton & lyra top he persuaded me to buy with a gauzey bubble back hanging from the shoulders). They’re on my ‘a bit sophisticated for running around NYC’ rail at present, but the dress is coming out to play very soon! He brought me over a gossamer light, mid blue cashmere sweater with a fold down neck that hangs over the front and can be belted in, when he was over last year, as a present. God I love his clothes. As you know, that blue is one of his trademarks. LLG xx
I love cobalt blue, too.
That dress is lovely- I think I shall have to get someone to pick it up for me…
Your blog is great, i love all the different posts on fashion and art, and i love the dress in this post
I have linked your blog to mine, hopefully other people will find it and be inspired to 🙂
that blue dress was simply gorgeous! I have some snaps of the collection from Sundays show and that was one of my faves!
I was so excited when I saw this collaboration, I love Yousefzada, his latest collection is a really interesting example of how ‘ethnic’ or rather non-western fashion traditions can be made relevant to greater audiences.
I have to say, I personally find LBD exciting all the time. And this seems to be a great collaboration.
I love the bronze addition, it’s a very simple dress, but that adds some pop. A nice accent.

That Oxford Circus store is mental, and I don’t like setting foot in it either! The dress is fabulous.
