I’m one of those juvenile people who is always going to be attracted to simple garment gimmicks. The stuff that makes me go ‘Oh my lord, why didn’t I think of that?’. Sometimes, I come up with some of them by myself, if the brain decides to function properly and lavish me with a clothing trick or two. Sometimes, others do it for me and this case, Anastasia Kolos whose label A.K.A. I talked about a while back has come up with these metamorphosis clips. Pin them anywhere and suddently the ordinary is a tad more interesting. It’s the combination of those clip-on badge fastenings and oversized safety pin (Amelie Poulain likes dipping her hands in pulses… I like dipping mine in heaps of metal fixtures…) that I’m really attracted to. Especially where the connecting fabric blends in so well as shown here with the grey scarf.
Niftyness

Oh I like these-as a child I always hoarded safety pins, clothes pins and occasionally hole punched my parents old clothes into dress up clothes. This is like a grown-up version.
These don’t look as simple as they are! A really clever little trick actually. Perhaps it’s something you could DIY…?
Hm, that is nifty. Though often designers think of the most basic idea, like the one you’ve blogged about above, and the price doubles because of it :/
great idea to rock up you scarfs & closet preciousness’. thx for sharing! greets *FLORA
It looks like those might put really big holes in the fabric though.
Have you ever realized that when you buy readymade suits you get a choice of only a few colors & styles, also finding the perfect fit are quite difficult? Wouldn’t it be better to choose from over 2000 different British & Italian fabrics and get a tailor made suit at a similar price that you pay for readymade suits?
We are a company based in Hong Kong and have been providing custom made suits & shirts since 1997. With representatives in major cities around the globe we can arrange to show you the fabric samples and take your measurements, or you can also place your orders online with the help of our measuring guide. There are over 2000 fabrics to choose from along with all the latest styles.
All our suits and shirts are produced by highly skilled Shanghainese tailors in Hong Kong and delivered in about 4 weeks, express delivery can be made in 2 weeks at a minor extra cost. In case you are not able to find what you are looking for then please let us know your requirement may it be in words or by a photograph and we could arrange it for you.
We also have an outlet at the Hotel Intercontinental Budapest where you are most welcome to visit us. Though we are not located in streets like Savile Row (London), we have still been able to offer made to measure suits to many VIP’s from around the world.

So simple, yet so clever!

thanks for sharing!
Oh, clever! A great idea 🙂
I’m going to get one of these for my airport travel wrap. I hate having to mind so many things getting on and off a plane but just can’t manage without my blankie/wrap! This is a great way of keeping it locked on!
That is a fascinating little clip…oh the marvels it could create.
holy moly.. that’s not a gimmick but a necessity… i need like, 10 of them. right now.
🙂
I wonder how I’d make those work with men’s clothes. A very interesting idea.
Hats off to Anastasia, this is really quite clever. The multitude of things one could do with the clip…
Quite a transformation from such a simple little clip. I really like what happened with the t-shirt.
these are totally up my alley. I really like the subtle industrial effect of these clips
Those are so clever, I have one sweater that i’ve never liked the way the cowl lies, maybe I’ll have to try and create something similar to play with.
i think you’ll like what a girl called rebecca marsden did for the Manchester Met show last year…
annoying the only photo i could find was in this pdf book (which is worth a look in any case if you get chance..)

What a great idea, so simple but so effect! I do wonder what effect it might have on the material though.. Wouldn’t want to end up with stretched or holey clothes! :S
hello susie, please remove the phtographs.. unfortunately people are not being very nice and copying, so i’d rather they went and bought it and then copied it if they must.. THANK YOU
