Just stop it now!

Yes, I’m talking to you Topshop.  Why must it be that when I’m trying to wean myself off the high street splurges that you must create shoes that I’m desperate to try on and coo at and then promptly buy (made worse that I’m over in New York right now)?  I know the ombre shoes have been done and done again by various people and I know peeptoe booties are again not of the new, but somehow with a maaagical (pronounced in the way that that annoying kid says it in the Disneyland adverts…) Topshop wand and my sucker for the word ‘Premium’ tacked onto these shoes (hence the slightly higher price tags….), I’m somewhat already sold.  The neutrality of the colours has also cunningly lulled me into thinking that without at least one pair of this selection, my wardrobe will absolutely not be complete.  It’s all very clever stuff.  I must be resigned that there will always be a wee percentage of Style Bubble posts dedicated to what Hadley Freeman calls the label that best represents London.  (That damn book review is coming…. once the thoughts are coherently gathered).

  1. topshop are actually mind readers…or hypnotists… or truly magicians… no matter how much you resist, they do hit that mark

  2. I like the designs but don’t know if I’m crazy about the colours.
I have come across so many cheap quality colour bleed patent items that I have jus gone right off the concept.

  3. I know the problem.
it´s h&m for me. there´s always something I have to have.
but who needs eating when she can wear an amazing tights/heels combination?
    I´m hungry.
    xx, isa

  4. They look far more expensive than Topshop, though since they are ‘premium’ they are probably far more expensive than Topshop…

  5. They are lovely! How come you are trying to wean yourself of High Street splurges?

  6. aaaaaaah the ‘greige’ peep toes <3
One thing i have learnt about the Premium line is that i cant actually walk in them, far too high! but beauuuuutiful..

  7. mmm liking the second ones! but i’d be scared of my walking abilities in such a spindly heel.
i can’t stop posting about topshop. it’s embarrassing. think i did about 5 in a row last week! the shame…

  8. I’m a bit tired of platforms, i want the pretty very delicate shoes to came back!
Just noticed that C.Kane is not online, when all the stuff is in the store already, at least since Friday.

  9. i love the style of shoe but i think the colour is so horrible that its actuly really nice in a wierd way! there great to make your legs look long and sexy!
not to keen on the peeptoe boots but what ever tickels your fancy!

  10. Triple-strapped ombre Mary Janes! Oh my…me WANTS! Though I should resist, considering the fact that I just bought a pair of two-toned sneakers today..

  11. I really like these!!! I saw them on the website and it’s probably a good thing they don’t ship to where I live as I would go hungry too!!!

  12. damn you susie! I was online when those went up last night but they were listed as unavailable. Now i’ll never be able to get them!

  13. I tried on the Topshop ombre t-bars today after lusting after them online. I was a bit disappointed though, they didn’t look so great in real life!

  14. Wow, I totally love how these ombre shoes look. Too bad I don’t have a pair for myself. Guess I’ll just have to settle on admiring them online 🙂

  15. SB, “not of the new” (this cracked me up, btw) is still two years away from being “of the new” in certain parts of this great big chunk o’land on which we live.
I like that taupe peeptoe, even as I am well aware that I would probably wear them with leggings and dangly earrings.

  16. I’m not a big fan of the peep toe booties, but I really am eyeing the ombr√© pair, especially with that great multi strap detail.

  17. Wow, the top two pairs are about enough to make me go off the rails, too! The bottom two I could live without.

  18. Like many people I CANNOT BELIEVE these are topshop. Though ombre on shoes?? I guess it’s on point for next fall…

  19. sigh, they look gorgeous. too bad i cant afford high street yet. you shouldnt have to break totally away from high street purchases, i dont know why everyone thinks they are so cheap. i think the problem just comes when u dont think hard about what ur buying and instead just grab a ton of stuff u like now but wont in 6 months

  20. hmmm, I tried on a pair of the last ones in store last night and I changed my mind about them…they look cool side on, like on the pic, but profile on, they have a weird shaped sole, and look a bit cheap:-(

  21. Why dont they make these kind of shoes for guys? Vertigo, general balance, drunken imbalance. No my dear people. They are just too damn painful on the toes, heels and ankles. We would simply not be able to cope with the pain. Think man flu…

  22. The fading colour shoes from topshop are stunning. However if you’re not prepared to splurge, there is a small chain store called KICK (we have it here in bristol, not sure about london) but they have copycat shoes just without the three bars for ¬£22. i’m scrimping and saving my way through my fashion degree and was deligted when i spotted them in the window for such little money!
