I rarely do a Fashionista-style single image post but…
Ah damnit…. I have a big trap that means I’m unable to be succinct and coy about things. I simply must elaborate and say that I suspect it’s the layers of coffee, cream and salmon broderie anglaise that together create a cake-like effect. I suspect it’s the medal ribbon halterneck. Actually, it could probably be because it’s one of the best things I’ve seen from New Look in yonks and I pray to god that it looks just as good in person when it hits the stores.

Good grief, those denim culottes shown at Catwalk are straight out of 1975-76, and at that time they were worn with cowl neck sweaters and clogs. The style may have started earlier, centering around the Wellesley College set; it was quite Ivy League for a while, East Coast. I can recall students wearing them in lieu of jeans, even into the eighties, when jeans were considered redneck(in the Ivy set; I went to Brown) and declasse.
So everything old is new again, encore les culottes.

I don’t like the shoes so much, they look a bit awkward and twee, esp. in that pose. But the dress is very pretty indeed…though I have to ask, is it a halterneck? Seeing a halterneck look ‘pretty’ as opposed to in-yer-face sexy, is just so rare.
It looks curtain-y to me. Maybe in another color it would be fine but hey, everything looks good on you Miss Bubble! Good Luck!
