It’s always the way isn’t it. The items you wear the most aren’t going to be your super-uber-expensive things but something seriously cheap and natty that cost pittance. Well, it doesn’t get cheaper or nattier than this pink PVC skirt that I got for ¬£1.99 on eBay. Despite coming from a fetishwear eBay seller, the skirt itself is just anything but fetishistic and apart from the material, there really isn’t anything that fruity about it. Its skater shape means that the PVC fabric isn’t hugging me in any way. It’s the perfect shape to layer under other similarly skater type skirts as the length is also not micro-mini. The hot pink colour just happens to match a certain pair of Miu Miu’s which serves as an excuse to get more wear out of them. Actually, I just seem to like adding a shot of the hot pink colour to an outfit where you least expect it. Somehow…someway…(and I have calculated just off the top of my head…)…I have worn this skirt more than any other item in my wardrobe….
At this point, most of you will be thinking ‘WTF?!?!’ right? I was thinking the same thing but then again, with the way I layer, the way I have wanted to play with texture and add an element of surprise to my outfits this season…. well, I suppose it’s not too implausible how this skirt has become my item of the season.
So now leads me with the desire to buy a few more in other colours. eBay yielded nothing but some super tight micro-mini PVC skirts that would probably not allow me to sit down or walk properly. This site however sells a skater skirt in an array of colours for the considerably more expensive price of ¬£30. Though what is ¬£30 for a skirt that I know I will get more wear out it than anything else (I can’t quite believe I just said that…). However, I would click through with caution as I do believe this is the oddest link I’ve posted on Style Bubble… yes, the skirts are available from a site called Translife – aka ‘Suppliers to the Transgender Community’. Pah! As if that’s going to stop me from getting my skirt of the season in colours such as violet, royal blue, bright green and orange. My only pondering is if the site is aimed at the transgendered community, why is the skirt modelled by a lady? Oh, the things that clog up my brain indeed…
I’m just trying to wrap my head around Translife’s all-leather fringed corsets…
How do you know that’s a lady? Or a bio-lady, anyway? I’ve seen some very beautiful, and convincing MtF trannies.
oh do you have some more pictures of you and the red skirt then? 🙂
I agree with 17:38- having been to Thailand, a lot of the time you actually can’t tell the difference between the ‘lady boys’ and the ‘ladies’…but the pink skirt is awesome as always.
Plus, a PVC skirt must be easy to clean, right?
Bizarrely enough I bought a very similar shiny PVC circle skirt, in plain old black, from one of those vaguely kinky cyber shops – not quite as odd as a transgender shop right enough, but still quite strange!
Wow, I really like this. And I never thought I’d get with the PVC trend!
It must again be remarked that there are no fetishes left to uncover. Dominatrix skaters-cum-Tyrolian milkmaids….
Once I zipped past the open-sided skirt (a viable fashion option here in LA, I am afraid, in certain circles), I managed find the kink-free plain old circle skirt, which I do imagine you’d get some use out of. I’ve always liked a circle skirt, esp. with longer top, as you’ve done in your pic.
You might even skate in the thing, but no whips, please!
Wish I’d known about that link before clicking it on this particular computer.
Hey ho!
The skirt is lovely and the stripey tee has got me thinking.
Dare I say the word Nautical.
No, I don’t. Forget I ever did..
(or if you don’t, just don’t imagine those Red magazine spreads of 40 somethings with boat rope belts..)
But I’m still thinking.
I do think it’s all transgenders.
Yes, I must say, that skirt is really lovely. It would look so pretty in violet… The combination of the pretty girly colours and then the fabric is brilliant. Such a contrast!
Hehe, some of the other things on that site…Rather amusing!
look i found u while browsing!

completely off the subject : Happy anniversaire !!!
I totally love that pink skirt and I think I’ve probably commented on this more than once but it will be epic to see more pvc skirts intermixed with the rest of your wardrobe.
I really like the skirt and I have been looking for exatley for a similar type of skirt aswell but when I typed things into ebay I only found tight pvc skirts. What did you type in? Thanks very much xxx
I always do that, I mean get the most wear out of the cheapest things in my wardrobe. They always get too ratty eventually and I curse myself that i didn’t buy more than one at the time (since they were so cheap), but how were you to know??
Gryphon: Oh the joy of transgender attire…
Anon: She may well be…but I’m not going to be too fussed about finding out…
Saskia: Do you mean the pink skirt? I don’t have a red one though the pink one does look red in the picture…
Dru: Yup..a baby wipe does to the trick!
Suzanna: Wielding a whip whilst skating is too much of an image for my brain to be handling at 9 in the morning…
Buttonandstars: Violet would be lovely…
Sanjina: *cringe*
Shredz: You’re linked.
Jen.B: The search for the skirt won’t stop until I have a stockpile of them…
Elspeth: That’s the thing… I just can’t find them on eBay anymore… hence the slightly dodgy website…
Lucy-Jane: I’ll try and be wiser next time in spotting these things…
OK this is a pretty skirt, well it could be with the right accessories. It could definately be brought to life more with a necklace full of diamonds . So to make this skirt work you need to visit http://www.diamondsonweb.com and bring the bubbly skirt to life.
