Victoria Beckham for Marc Jacobs should be hilarious. Kirsten Dunst for Miu Miu should be polished. Lovefoxx from C.S.S. for Luella should be fun. Yes, the SS08 fash ad watch has begun with those February issues coming out soon, the full rollout of ads should be completed. However, I had no idea M.I.A. was doing Marc for Marc Jacobs. Now M.I.A. usually makes me want to jump around in a lunatic-like fashion. Actually, just thinking of M.I.A. already sends warped fractal primary coloured patterns through my brains. So somehow, these ads shot by Juergen Teller aren’t really doing anything for me because I don’t see her exuding that same energy that I’d associate with her. It’s a shame as it’s always nice to get a hit of ‘Happy Happy’ when flicking through mags that can be a tad dour. I’ll have to count on Lovefoxx to do that then.
On the plus side though, I’m suddenly thinking that my charity shop oversized men’s suits and washed-out pale blue jim jams really need to be dug out again.

ah, i love m.i.a! but you are right (ofcourse) it just doesnt have “that same energy” that she usualy oooozes, and i have seen her live and this just doesnt scream her. MORE COLOUR! still i enjoy the advert.

Those trousers do not look like anything she’d wear in this lifetime…in fact, the entire suit looks out of character for her. Me no likely, she deserved better.
It looks like she’s trying, but you’re right, it’s definitely not there. These shots are a bit more mobile than most Jurgen Teller photos, though.

As much as I love M.I.A, this campaign just doesnt suit her style and her fun character which am used to seeing, i’m really looking forward to see Lovefoxx for Luella looks like.
Also I saw a picture of VB for Marc Jacobs on http://frillr.com/?q=node/5894 its not exactly funny but I guess the fact that its VB just makes me laugh out loud, also im not sure how true it is, but apparently VB is going to be posing Naked for Marc Jacobs Charity Tshirts for ss08 which will either leave me scared and traumatised or just another hilarious moment…(I feel like such a gossip)

its not supposed to “suit her” you think she’s wearing oversized mens clothes to suit them? he’s putting women in mens clothes and men in womens clothes. this ad is her wearing mens and theres the new ad with the guy wearing womens dresses.
