The sort of Style Bubble mentions I like are the ones that come as a big surprise and I was none the wiser when I picked up the new Paper magazine (the nightlife Nov issue) only to find a little paragraph written by Carol Lee, the online creative director as a blog recommendation, following a huge article on the phenomenon that is Perez Hilton…

‘This is a famous blog written by a very smart, savvy and obsessive style daredevil from London named Susie Bubble.  I love her because she’ll try on anything – and by anything I mean from S&M latex pants to homespun head-ornaments she found on Etsy.com – at least once.  And she can also school us on Oskar Schlemmer’s Triadisches Ballett’ and the forgotten Italian couturists like Sorelle Fontana and Emilio Federico Schuberth.’

I don’t claim to be a schooler of anything or a daredevil but it’s nice to be thought of in this way so thank you Carol Lee and thank you Papermag.  Without meaning to make this sound like mutual gushing, buying Papermag was my first glimpse into how cool New York is and how desperately I wanted to move there a few years ago so yes, this surprise of a mention is much appreciated!

  7. yup, i was reading about you in it last week. the daft punk editorial turned out nicely . they did a piece on sandra buckland and other upcoming designers a few months ago, reviewed by diane pernet.
