Whistling the Right Tune

I’ve been had – by Whistles new ad campaign for AW07-8…  Whistles is one of those stores that I have never venture into and only ever come into contact with when I’m walking to the cafe on 2nd floor contemporary womenswear in Selfridges.  Yeah, some cute things have caught my eye but never are they cute enough to induce me to buy something given the mid-range bordering on overpriced prices.  Funny how a dreamy ad featuring Valentine Fillol Cordier who as a model I find endearingly cute/cool makes me think ‘Oh…Whistles…. hmmm…. maybe?’.  Hence the first sentance ;’I’ve been had!’.

Despite seeing her roaming around London Fashion Week on several occasions, I haven’t yet been able to lock down a picture of her and it’s a shame as she wears the prettiest ensembles (noted: navy sequin beret, navy princess coat, grey patent boots).  She’s also only a smidge taller than I am and not of super skinny proprtions, which I also find un-threatening (shameful observations but relating oneself to others can’t be helped in some instances…).  Girl crushes are a terrible thing when they are involved in brand strategies of stores you’re not into…

  1. Whistles is def one of my ‘search hard and you’ll find something’ stores. It doesn’t hurt that Valentine’s involved either! (Although she is a bit of a one look pony imo…….)

  2. I love Valentine very much although she’s not kind of supermodels. She’s a charm & stylish in French style girl even not in shooting. I think she’s very suits A.P.C so you can see her on A.P.C. ad every seasons since many years ago.
