To market we click…

When it is hailing/raining in a freakish ‘The Day After Tomorrow’-style way like it has been in London, the idea of galavanting around markets looking for treasures is not particularly appealing.  Say nay to wet socks and ratty hair!  Curella Cream wants to give us to shop market-style but whilst cosying up in Tabio socks and baggy jumpers.  Run by the CC sisters, Jane and Sue, the CC Market is up online, live every Wednesday and Sunday.  Stock is snapped up throughout the day and replenished for the next market day.  If eBay is the equivalent of an online jumble sale, as in ‘anything goes’ then CC Market is the equivalent of a well selected vintage stall that you like to frequent on a sunny Sunday.

Today’s market selections include a lot of ladylike navy…

…and cream….

They also seem to excel at gathering the cutest clip-on earrings which for the holeless group like myself is a god-send. I’m after the rosette and crochet ones, the sort you wear at a tea party or something.

The jewellery offerings today… love the red horse hair clip…

As well as clothes, accessories, homeware and some hilarious vintage romance novels (Mills and Boon is mint.  Fact.), CC Market also has some lovely trimmings, DIY goodies for your bargain-hunting creative mitts.  All of this gives me the impression that it’s like my beloved Shop on Cheshire Street but online…

The CC sisters also have their own fashion brand Cee Cee, all cute, smocky and vintage inspired…

…CC’s button brooches and ribbon brooches and bracelets.  Can I say the word ‘cute’ again without it being too cloying?

If you miss the market days, Corella Cream also constantly has a CC Fashion shop where they sell a mixture of Cee-Cee clothes and jewellery as well as picks from what they all their CC Charmbox. Prime picks is what I could call these vintage frocks (especially the floral smock…but alas, it’s SOLD!) and bags (I want to cram all my techy gadgets into that wicker basket and lug them around town).

  1. I love this shop – I just bought a vintage bag from there a few weeks ago. I also love that all of the products have people’s names, even their homeware. I share my name with a pair of old curtains!
