Lanvin Shapes Up

I don’t need to say much here as the images say it all but let’s just say these are by far the most impressive ads for autumn winter 2007-8 I’ve seen yet.  Shot by Steven Meisel, they serve only one purpose and that is to stamp that Lanvin AW07-8 sillhouette into your head so that you don’t want to forget it.  When I reported on the show back in March, I commented how it was a shame that you couldn’t see photos of the back of the garments as there was some sublime detailing going on there and here, with the side view, seeing the backs jut out like that is perfect.

  1. I wish people were more adventurous… I wish
I was more of a daredevil. Seeing these ads makes me hate even more my dark rinsed skinny jeans + grey tee combo. And im a boy!!

  2. WOW
seems to me a bit of pierrot/pierrette thing going on with the poses and the nuances more generally.
    delicious.

  3. These ads are sublime, I love the color contrast and the way the silhouette is exaggerated in these photos.
this is way an ad campaign should be. it catches you and makes you want to buy it.

  4. i love to see beautiful graphic design & fashion on the same page. it’s got a great lucian bernhard sensibility about it (minimal product + brand)….. which is a wonderful appropriation (early 20th century).
