‘Cute’ is a word that gets thrown around a lot when people describe me. It’s not pretty. It’s not beautiful. It’s ‘cute’ – like a bunny rabbit. I don’t begrudge that. Hey, there are worse things to be labelled than ‘cute’ (*she says with gritted teeth*). So I suppose playing up to that ‘cute’ label is something fun to do in a while and if I’m going to play up to, then I can justify it by wearing Jessica Ogden’s new range for Fred Perry. It’s now the second time they have collaborated and I think this collection has outdone the first one both in a faded kind of cuteness. The design and styling reminds me of this Class of 2006 Models editorial from British Vogue shot by Paolo Roversi, a bit 1950’s retro but then I also love those touches and references to 1930’s tennis wear. Wimbledon themed parties are on their way (strawberries and cream and lashings of Pimms!) and this collection has given me the perfect outfits and also to get cute in. If I so wish.

There’s something very 1940s housewife about this, that, unlike turbans, appeals to me. Could be her rad hair, tho, too.
it reminds me alot of marc by marc ss07
i think the huge black models make a big differences. i like that, you expect a blond white doll wearing that. i like the clothes, they are so smooth or something like that.
I love the collection. But i really hate how fred perry just paste the logo onto the clothing now a days instead of actually embroidering on the actual material. It looks like a chunky cheapy afterthought.
Yet more proof that British preppy is infinitely superior to American preppy. Sigh.
Cute indeed! Those outfits remind me a bit of the finnish Nanso’s clothes (http://livingbyw.blogg.se/images/nanso_1146942540.jpg). (Couldn’t find better pictures)… Great blog by the way :)!
Argh! Yes!!! CUTE!! “Wot, like a bunny rabbit?” – that’s exactly what I used to say when people threw that one at me (and they have done throughout my life – hell, even when I was 7, fellow seven year olds called me cute). It is a little disheartening when you’re coming up to thirty though and you’d quite like to be a sophis woman by now. Still, I suppose it’s better than pig-dog or shortass (but I get the latter too!!). Susie at least you have height on your side you big cutie you!! xx
i love it, but her hair is what makes it.
i’d have to agree with the previous comments- i love the clothes themselves, but it’s the juxtaposition of the model that really makes this look work.
I am a sucker for cute preppy clothing, and this hits the spot. Also, I too am doomed to be deemed “cute” for the rest of my life. Not even in the “pretty” cute, but more like the “twee” cute. (I hope to at least reach “pretty” cute someday, if anything.)
