Marloes ten Bh√∂mer is a name that I’m fairly familiar with and certainly her architectural feats of footwear have left a distinct impression on me. But like the curious child that I am, and with a fairly empty shell of a website, what is Marloes up to these days? I suddenly got reminded of Bh√∂mer when I wrote about Heather Blake a while ago. It’s always good to look back at Bh√∂mer’s magically futuristic take on footwear but what of her current projects? I’m going through a bit of a hankering for shoes that don’t necessarily make 95% of women swoon or gush ‘That’s gorgeous!’ but something that has a sense of unease about them. Something Bh√∂mer-esque would fit the bill perfectly. The funcionality of her shoes isn’t immediately apparent and I like how you need look at them for a while to figure them out.

Oh wow, those truly are incredible. How inspiring! 🙂
These concept shoes are a treat for the eyes, but likely dreadful for the feet!
i could easily see myself running around in those blue ones
I expect they’re not quite as uncomfortable as they look, but I’m remiinded of the Steve Martin story, “Cruel Shoes.”
