Style Bubble is Ill

>> Daily updates and findings are temporarily suspended as I’m suffering from a very nasty, dire sort of kidney infection which basically renders me useless and bed-ridden. I’m pretty much pissed off with my body at the moment as Style Bubble will suffer because of it.
Apologies if the blog seems a little redundant for the time being.

And may I just say that I can totally relate to the song you’ve chosen – Heartbeat by Annie. That song makes me so happy, but it sticks out on my playlist like a sore thumb. I usually listen to “indie-rock” (in lack of better words!).

  30. HEY i dunno if you will get to read this but perhaps you should try fresh lemon juice with bottled mineral water. it has a detox effect and has helped me, my bf during really nasty cold and infections. everyone who has tried it said it works. so heres the recipe. Squeeze HALF a lemon into ONE bottle of 1.5 to 2 litres of mineral water (COLD or room-temperature). DRINK at least 2 bottles per day! it will help! take care and get well soon xxx NB. DO not try it with HOT or boiled water.

  31. just wanna tell ya the lemon juice makes the water tastes a lil funny but u will get used to it after a while. keep drinking until u recover…xx

  32. I really hope you get better! Just worry about resting and getting better, that’s all that is important!

  37. Do get well Susie, not just to blog again, but to be your happy self.

  38. Susie:
So sorry to hear that you are ill. Hope you got to the doctor right away for antibiotics. A kidney infection can be a serious and even life threatening if not treated promptly.
You probably know all this already, but this might help:
The Mayo clinic recommends the following self-care measures to make you more comfortable while those antibiotics are working:
Heat: Place a heating pad on your abdomen, back or side to reduce feelings of pressure or pain.
Hydration: Drinking plenty of fluids will help to flush bacteria from your urinary tract. Avoid citrus juices, coffee, alcohol and soft drinks with caffeine until your infection has cleared. These products can irritate your kidneys and aggravate your frequent or urgent need to urinate.
Pain medicine: For fever or discomfort, take a non-aspirin pain reliever that contains acetaminophen (Tylenol, others) as directed by your doctor, or take a prescription medication that he or she provides.
I love your blog and am sure that your indomitable spirit will carry you through and you’ll be back in wonderful fashion soon.
    Best,
    Gwendolyn
