This post is AWFULLY late but as the week is progressing, these daily reports are sounding more and more like a doctors’ diagnosis sheet. It is a bit of a crying shame that my being ill has put a bit of a downer on what has been a fantastic week! Oh well…. I’m backtracking a bit, and despite the copious amounts of panedol, memories of yesterday did come to me…
I have noticed a fair amount of French fashion press milling around, more so than last season. No Carine Roitfeld but others from Vogue Paris and from Jalouse, L’Officiel etc.
Perhaps they are just seeing the LFW shows to pass time until Marc by Marc Jacobs comes along or hopefully, perhaps London is no longer seen as a week to skip and rest in between New York and Milan and that actually, wee ol’ London DOES have something to offer. Oh, I do hope its the latter…
There are streetstyle photogaphers everywhere and everyday, someone asks for a picture of my outfit which strangely I’m not that comfortable with even though I take pics of myself and put them here(?) And when some of them ask me what I’m wearing I’m like ‘Err….Uniqlo, charity shop shoes…’ and they’re looking at me expecting to say ‘Marc Jacobs, Prada etc..’. Oh well, if I dish it, I’ve got to take it so thats that. Fashion TV are also particularly pushy…they just thrusted the camera in my face and said ‘What are you wearing?’ but in a more accusatory tone than an inquisitive one. I had to stammer and blush my way out of it…
Shows seen: Roksanda Illincic (one of my favourite shows of the season…), Preen (very 80’s body-con but still showed mastery of Preen cutting), Basso & Brooke (quite literally a visual feast… so much to take in!), Biba (dull as dishwater… even dishwater might be slightly more exciting), Eley Kishimoto (YAY – they’re back on the schedule…more about this later as I am EK ker-razy…), Julia Clancey (sexy flappers ahoy)
Wearing: Uniqlo navy satin pleated shirt, Preen t-shirt top w/ elastic back and silver bust piece, cream skirt w/ oversized pockets from Hong Kong, light grey tights, cream pom pom necklace and Urban Outfitters pearl necklace, perspex wedges from a charity shop
The Roksanda Illincic show at Quaglino’s was very refined, la-di-da… definitely a good start to what was a pretty unromantic Valentine’s Day for me (I sort of forgot it was Valentine’s day… and was just thinking ‘Yay! Loadsa shows today!’…. I know which is more important to me…). Here is restaurant…..and then backdrop…
The shoes at the Illincic show had these darling tulle bows….. me thinks I might go do some tulle-ing on some shoes. Also, if Style Bubble materialised into a physical garment, then this pink satin cocoon cape would be it…it even matches the style of this blog!
I think this was the Japanese magazine editor who was snapped in the Balenciaga riding hat and everyday at LFW, he has been wearing this white Balenciaga hat… I think he likes the heigh oomph it gives him // Leopard hotpants over gold American Apparel leggings….this one stumped me a little
Haven’t seen any other person clad this much in patent. Patent grey does look great though. // At the Basso & Brooke show, The Coconut Twins were clad in matching shellsuits with of course a lot of bling-a-ding-ding.
Miss Roitfeld may not have made it to London Fashion Week as was rumoured but the lovely to behold Anna Piaggi did… ack… I love her // I asked my friend Zena where she got this necklace and she just casually said she saw this red t-shirt she was wearing and just made this necklace with stuff lying around…. hmm yes, I think tomorrow I’ll just look at my brown vest and make a fantastic necklace in a jiffy…. maybe with the potato peel I have lying around…NOT

O my i was a dresser at the ilinic show. it was soo amazing to be up close and personal to her cloths. I was a pity i didnt get to see the show properly you are so lucky!
You have no idea how much those chaos you were so wowed by caused! youd probs appreciate them more if you knew
i was on about the shoes btw im very tired!
i love the American Apparel gold leggings, but just NOT with leopard hotpants, ick.
I wish I was as resourceful as your necklace friend, that necklace looks like it could come from the Benjamin Cho “giant accesory” (haha. my phrase) collection.
Can’t wait for your Eley Kishimoto coverage!
by far my fav lfw outfit thus far. looking great susie. this outfit has a lot of depth and love the perspex shoes in this instance. also love the commentary about the red necklace. hilarious. i’m going to be london for about two weeks as of tuesday by the way (not sure since you are so busy if you are reading comments) but i will send an email your way!
susie, you found your transparent shoes! they look brilliant, and make your legs look fab! kudos to you for being able to cope with those heels whilst feeling under the weather. thanks for bringing lfw home to us
haha you’re funny! And you look great, as always. Oslo Fashion Week is up, and no, offcourse you haven’t heard about it, because they are lousy on PR, both internationally and here in Oslo as well. But I’m going today, and I need to look the way you do in this picture, or maybe the last one. Can’t I also be this innovative, creative and fabulous? You really have it all Susie.
I have to agree with the others here, this is my favourite outfit by far, probably because of the skirt. I have been looking for a very similar one for aaaaages, you cannot believe how irritated I was when I sawit’s from Hong Kong!!!
i’m in love with your outfit
be proud of your labels – it just shows you have imagination! – after all they’re the ones that asked – they must have liked what you had put together and if they are such fashionistas they would have know exactly what you were wearing without even having to ask! so there!
a little invite…

hey susie, i sat behind you at a few things this week!
just wanted to tell you i love your blog, and you looked great this week – that hotpant monstrosity of a woman was from italian vogue alledly, we saw her all over the place, what a legend.
if you don’t want to tell anyone your top is from a charity shop, just say its vintage. most people will never know. you always look great though so you should be happy to have your pic taken!
this is my favorite of your LFW outfits so far! it’s no wonder people are stopping you left and right 🙂
hi i really adore your blog and if you want to link, please email me at lamadrama@gmail.com thank youu =)
Susie you are my idol because you wear your Uniqlo and charity shop items with no prejudice to fashion week. And you look fab with your eclectic style. A true fashion lover you are.
great posts susie! i am just loving the shoes this lfw!!! i quite like the Antoni & Alison theme…how funny is that! i’m sure that kind of theme would cause some kind of uproar here in the states! i love marc by marc, i’m bummed you didn’t get tickets, but i’m with you on that one, i hate when shows are over hyped.
