My coverage of the menswear shows in Milan and Paris was…. well zilch really. Many a male email is coming my way with pleas of menswear coverage. Trust me when I say it is not a lack of interest but rather its a lack of knowledge. I have many menswear names and images floating around in my head but its all a bit nonsensical as opposed to the girls stuff so bear with me! I went along to the show at the b Store for RAdAR h’s A/W07-8 collection. Now, if you have been to the b Store, there isn’t exactly oodles and oodles of space so in crammed many of the London’s more avant garde fash-crowd, judging from the number of ‘Let’s intimidate Susie’ outfits. CSM graduate Dylan Hershman hails from San Francisco and designs collections that centre around a certain occupation. For this season, its all about the ‘hero’ but not the obvious kind. He’s darker, and slouchier but with a touch of dandy. what I really liked about the collection and it’s something I’d want in womenswear too is the seemingly casual style of the clothes but then coupled with real attention to materials used like layers of cashmere, elk leather and high quality tweed, offset with the ‘base’ materials of jersey and denim. It reminds me of the sort of thing that an older, more sophisticated version of the Dear Wendy gang might wear whilst brandishing their fancy pistols (without shooting them of course….). I think its the addition of the Noel Stewart hats and the pointed brogues collaborated with B Store that dandifies everything perfectly. Would it be incredibly greedy if I said I would love to wear some of this, especially the knits, myself?

cool pictures. nice menswear.
pretty sure that if I were a guy I would dress like a dandy in the Gothic sense… it would be so adorable!
