All seamed up

Psst….sometimes I do wish at times, that I could wear a truly sexy look, even though I’m just about the un-sexiest dresser you’ll ever meet.  So bearing that in mind, I’ll be taking wee baby steps in order to fufill my secret desire.  These seamed stockings will be my first step.  My body isn’t all that brilliant but my legs are just about acceptable, so encasing them in some stockings and chunky high shoes like the Hussein Chalayan ones in the picture doesn’t really fill me dread (whereas a cropped top and short shorts does!).  Annoyingly, the stockings are listed as coming from a website called www.atskoudo.com which doesn’t even exist so i-D must have made a typo when crediting the clothes.  If anyone can point me in the right direction, I’d be most grateful!

In the meantime, I’ll settle for these lookalikes from Sock Dreams (is it just me or is every pair of socks on the site really enticing? – I keep adding things to my basket in a compulsive manic way!)

Sexy, I may not be, but a sexy moment with some seamed stockings is quite enough for me!

  1. Susie, you big meanie! As if my bank account needed to be depleted further! And you throw these fabulous socks at me!
    *sigh*
The over-the-knee tube socks in navy and grey and teal and.. and.. and.. are tooooooo pretty!
*trying oh-so-hard not to spend* 😉

  2. I know I am not very fashion forward, but why don’t you just buy nude tights and draw a line down the back?

  3. Vogue are quite obsessed with Atusuko Kudo (http://www.atsukokudo.com/salonak.htm) in this month’s issue, so I guess they’ve made it in the fashion league as well as the fetish scene! You can’t tell from ID’s photo, but all their stuff’s latex (rubber), so it’s decidedly sweaty to wear and generally unsuitable for daytime or all but the most far-out clubs. Vogue kept on calling latex leggings PVC, which is quite wrong – rubber’s natural, very stretchy and just one layer of material, whereas PVC’s petroleum-based and basically a layer of shiny stuff on a fabric-type backing.

  4. hi, first time posting… clicked on your blog through tfs a couple of days ago, and I’m already addicted!
September’s Vanity Fair had an designer-film aspired shoot with black tights and a black lining in the back by Agent Provocateur…
They caught my eye too, and wad’ya know? it’s featured in your blog!

  5. Oh, I think sexy is much more an attitude than it is about any physical qualities. And those socks definitely say “sexy” to me!

  6. This may sound stupid if you already know, but YOUR BLOG was featured in Teen Vogue!! Pg. 212 of the Sept. issue! Yours was one of 4 fashion blogs listed! How exciting!! Much love.

  8. Susie, don’t be so harsh on yourself! I know me, and others would kill for your figure so don’t go bashing it! Either way, to whoever said sexy is all about attitude, they are so right. I’m sure lots of guys find your free attitude towards clothing sexy, and you just don’t know it. Or at least, thats what I tell myself about the way I dress! lol. But seamed tights are hot.

  9. Hi, I found your blog through stylediary and have been quietly reading for a while now. Just thought I’d mention that not exactly as fancy, but Primark of all places had some seamed stockings for about £1.50.

  13. Oh…thanks for all the suggestions – all routes which I have to check out. Jay: Thanks for correcting the site address. The picture REALLY doesn’t make them look like PVC…VERY misleading. I’m not a fan of the sticky uncomfortable thing so I think I’ll give those a miss…..
Lovemyboots: Will have to pick up VF to see…
Meg: I think I’ll have to start telling myself that too!
