New Look For All

This dress by New Look has literally been flying off the racks from what I’ve been witnessing.  At the last media awards show I went to, I spotted five girls wearing it (despite the event being black tie) and I’ve seen it on the streets countless times.  Is it the £28 price tag?  Is it the flirty floral-ness of the dress?  Or is it that British fashion magazine editors have purposely decided to turn this dress into the ‘IT’ high street item of the season (remember THAT Chloe-copy Florench & Fred dress….)?  I’ve seen this happening with quite a few items of late and as sad as it sounds, it really puts me off buying it.  So, lovely as this dress maybe, I think I’ll choose to scout for a vintage version that won’t have the misfortune of looking like a has-been ‘it’ item come next year.  Thanks, UK Elle, Glamour, Grazia, Cosmo – thanks a bunch!

  1. yeah i REALLY　REALLY wanted that dress after seeing it it ELLE a few months back but I have to thank my rubbish local branch of New Look for never having up to date stock cus I wouldn’t buy it now~

  2. I’m the same, I wanted the dress for ages and then saw it in New Look a week ago. I bought the thing and now have it hanging in my wardrobe with labels and receipt attached. Cannot decide what to do, maybe wear it abroad? So, so pretty….!

  3. I managed to miss the hype surrounding this completely (don’t ask me how), but a few weeks ago I went in to New Look, spotted it, fell instantly in love, and when I got to the till had a chat with the girl who filled me in on it being the ‘it’ dress.
    Of course now I’m too scared to wear it for fear of seeing so many girls in the same thing.

  7. Wow, the dress is gorgeous! Is there a way I can get buy it from the US? I’m sure it hasn’t received the same amount of hype here (namely because the brand is based in Britain?) Anyway, please let me know. Thanks!

  8. i saw this in new look in oxford street yesterday. I didnt buy it, but only because funds are tight at the mo. i thought ah yes, lets have a look on ebay because you never know. sure enough i found two people selling this dress. The first one sold for thirty pounds and the second one was inching up past fifty pounds! Obviously people dont realise that its still in the shops selling at £28…
