I have been meaning to give the shirt and tie look a go this summer because I’ve seen it work so well for other people. Of course I’ve seen this worn by City female bankers for years but they do the whole baggy trouser suit with the fat tie thing which I could NEVER do. The key I think is to wear the shirt and tie with something softly feminine like this Chloe outfit but it’s still got to have a bit of structure to it.
So, today I donned my ’22 grand job’ outfit (geddit….the Rakes Song!)with a Uniqlo stripy shirt, Topshop satin skinny tie, Moschino grey scallop edged mini-skirt and an oversized Gap jacket with some navy suede pumps and off to work I went. I definitely got a few raised eyebrows but tons of compliments too so me thinks this is definitely one for the workplace! I did feel strangely more professional wearing a tie as well! Downside? I now know why guys are always itching to take their ties off because on a sweltering day like today, a tie is like a constrictor!

for some reason i didnt get to see almost any of the ss2006 shows, dunno what i was doing. chloe there looks really different from the fall show, which was, i think, really odd.
i dig The Rakes! haha
I love this look on you! Reminds me I should get a skinny tie.
Your outfit looks so cute!
