Take a Bow

I always recommend people visit Topshop when they come to London only because, the website only sells a tiny smidge of what they have instore and it is an essential London shopping experience (whether you like it or not!).  However, these days, I don’t seem to be practising what I preach because the only time I can just about handle Topshop is Sunday mornings when I can’t be arsed to get up.  So I have started to browse the website just to get a temporary fix.  I ended up buying this dress which kind of had the ‘attitude’ of a Giles Deacon dress from the current season.  I’m going to add an oversized, cartoon-like straight bow (like a ma-hussive version of the bow on the Giles dress) made out of satin wrapped around bendy polypropylene (so that it sticks out nicely) on the front on the bustline.  I just can’t get enough of bows – the bigger and more ridiculous looking they are, the better.

  1. I love big bows! I have a vintage Moschino skirt with a huge bow in the back. I love it so much, but haven’t figured out how to wear it yet. Usually a nice t-shirt works when I am out of ideas… Love your dress!

  2. I was eyeing that dress too — I found that it reminded me very much of a Lanvin dress my mom owns.

  3. I’m a bow fiend too.
That Giles Deacon dress was everywhere- I wonder if a piece from his new collection will be as popular.

  4. the Topshop site is the only way to go for out-of-country readers (like me). I just started reading your blog and absolutely LOVE it. Keep up the good work! And just ignore all those nasty critics *frowny face*
