Martin Margiela is set to alight the enclosed world of haute couture as he has been ‘invited’ by the Chambre Syndicale to show his handmade clothes during the official Couture schedule in July. However, rather than a catwalk show, it will be a static presentation. I for one am DYING to see what he creates for this age-old, racked with tradition fashion establishment. Somehow I think he may just shake up the dwindling and somewhat predictable (yes, even Dior is underwhelming me…) bag of tricks and hopefully make haute couture relevant to the present again.
