I was flicking through an old issue of i-D magazine and came across this editorial which I thought was scary and pretty at the same time. It’s a very direct human interpretation of Egon Schiele’s nude paintings/drawings. I find most of Egon Schiele grotesquely real bordering on perverse but I love it all the same. This shoot is softer, a lot less angrier than Schiele’s work but the photographer has captured the vulnerability and woundedness of the model perfectly.

And now for the real Schiele….
Deux filles allongées en sens contraire, Femme couchée sur le dos, Nu féminin couché
(Editorial scanned from i-D No. 261, Schiele paintings taken from artyst.net)

It’s cool but her body shape is kind of…Weird……especially from the second pic
That’s probably why they cast her as a Schiele model…. Schiele drew women contorted and twisted like that as well.
